Maybe Tmi-ben Wa Better than Kegels?

This isn't something I'd ask many people I know, so I figured this is a good place to ask :) I hear Ben Wa balls are a great way to strengthen the pelvic floor and help prevent incontinence issues later in life. (After having 3 kids it's something I think about) It's also supposed to help things in the bedroom as well. I was curious if anyone has tried them, if it worked. Is it worth trying?

So What Happened?

I used to try to do Kegals but I never remember to and it's the last thing on my mind.

@ Theresa- He is a link that I think explains it well:

@ Kelly L. Can your nurse friend recommend a brand/type to get? Metal vs plastic etc?
@ H&H Momma-I was going to look into these a while back and totally forgot and 50 Shades reminded me about them :)

Thanks for all the comments!

Funny----I had some about 12 years ago when I was single and I used them just to help out with "recreational endeavors". Honestly, I'd forgotten all about them until you posted this. I don't know about incontinence or anything, but yes I liked them just fine for a workout. Maybe I should pick some up again? Kegels, I do. When I'm driving around, or on the computer, or whatever. Not just straight flexing but also forward, backwards, and "rolling" the muscle. Ben Wa balls are better at strengthening though, in my opinion. Think of the kegels vs ben wa question like the difference between flexing your arms like you're simulating a curl, or curling with a 3, 5, or 10 lb weight. Kind of like that.

I have also been thinking about buying some Ben Wa balls but just not sure if I should. From the info I have read it is advised to buy the ones with the string attached so that they are easier to remove.

I am prego right now but I think I will try them out after I have the baby to help get things back to normal in there.

Good question IMO! I have been wanting to post a question and ask.....

Do you do Kegels? I try to but always forget.

I will wait to read your responses.

haha they were all over "50 Shades of Grey" but used mostly for sexual gratification - I thought I might give them a try - though I heard you have intercourse while they are in you - seemed a little off too me.

however - i'm guessing they'd really work to strengthen those muscles since it is a weighted ball.
