Help-my 8 Year Old Is Very Picky About Her Food.

I have an 8 year old that is very picky about food. She either wants something different from what i've made and if not, she won't eat. I can't get her to eat veggies or healthy food. It all started one day that we were at my in laws house, and she almost vomited, ever since then, she is always saying that if she tries something new she's going to throw up. I've tried telling her to try something first, before saying she doesn't like it, I've tried the mother and daughter cook day, where we make somthing together, i've tried to hide the...

Need to Purchase a Washing Machine

I have always received great advice from you guys so here I am again. Thank you all so much for your responses and for your advice. My 8 year old washing machine went on the blink. The repairman suggested that I just get a new one. The old one would cost too much to repair he says. Financially, I cannot afford to purchase a NEW machine. Does any one know where I can get a reliable used one? Perhaps a friend may be moving and wants to sell theirs or perhaps there is a reputable place that you know of that sells good, used, washing...

Is Buying Used Car Really That Much Saving?

I have a 10 year old car that is about at it's life's end. I bought it new for $22K. I can sell the car for $2k now. So basically the car cost me $2k a year to own. I am looking at this new car that is a really good deal - 5k off the sticker price. I plan to keep the car for 10 years. The new car will cost me $17k. I can buy a 2 year old version of this car for $15k but really I'm thinking the 2k isn't worth it since once you get a few years on the car you need more maintenace (new brakes, etc). I've also look at other used cars ( I don't...

Should a 6 Year Old Get Ready for School Without Reminders...

I have a 6 year old boy.. and a 7 year old girl. I work part time and have a nanny come to my house to watch the kids get them breakfast and drive them to school. Today nanny called me. She said she thought the kids were big enough to get themselves ready for school without constant reminders. She said she had a talk with them today and told them that since they were big now.. she should not have to tell them to get dressed to put their pjs away and to brush teeth and hair... etc... they should just know the routine and do it.. ...

Step Daughter Getting Married

My step daughter is getting married in September. She will graduate in June, turn 19 in August and get married in September. I am really glad that she has decided to get married instead of just live with the guy. Her mom has told her that she will pay for the wedding. My husband and I have been together since she was about 7 and we paid $380 a month until she moved in with us about a year ago. Her mom married a wealthy man so the child support she got went into an account for my step daughter so that is why she is agreeing to pay for it....
