Rash, Rash, Rash!!!!!

Where do I begin? I took Bella into the pediatrician's office for what I thought was sever diaper rash. Her doctor sent me home with medication for a yeast infection and Thrush. We used Monistat and Nystatin for a week, it didn't work. So I took her back to the doctor's office, they then sent me home Lotrimon and another dose of Nystatin. Another week went by, went back to the Dr's. office and they say that she doesn't have a diaper rash nor a yeast infection, it is now Exzema in the diaper area. The next week Bella got really sick...

Diaper Rash with Cloth Diapers

I am new to cloth diapering, and have just started using cloth with my 8 mo old. She was fine for a day or so, but then got a diaper rash. I wasn't sure if I could use cream, so I switched back to disposables. Again today we're using cloth and she has a rash again. She has never had one other than this. I change her about every 2-3 hours and immediately if she's pooped. I use Nellie's soap that a friend suggested. Am I doing something wrong? I would love to keep using cloth. Thanks in advance for your help!

Bad Diaper Rash

My daughter has had a pretty bad case of an ear infection. Well the medication she is on is causing diarrhea, which lead to a diaper rash/yeast infection. My question is.... what possibly do you think would help ease the pain.. I am using a fungal cream for the yeast infection. I have given her tylenol for pain.. I have soaked her in plain water.. What could I possibly use in the bath water to help her with this.. She is in pain every time she has a bowel movement or urinates. The dr. just tells me to use the fungal cream.. Thank you

Diaper Rash--It's Been Three Months

Just wondering if anyone has had an experience like this with their baby. My daughter is 10 months old, and she's had a daiper rash since about 7 months old. It does not seem to bother her. It used to be worse, and when it started, it seemed to be caused by her poop. Her skin seemed to burn from the poop, blister, and then peel. It would clear up if she didn't poop for a couple of days, but it always came back when she pooped. Now it is only on her inner thighs OUTSIDE the diaper area. She's been to the ped three times, and they...

Home Treatment for a Severe Diaper Rash

My 1 year old has a severe diaper rash. I was wondering if anyone has any home remedies for me to try. I am already using a wet cloth and water to clean his butt. I know to air dry as much as possible. He hates soaking but we do it. I only use Destin. Am I leaving anything out? I've read about a chamomile and oatmeal bath. Anyone try that? I've read to use before applying Destin to use either Vitamin E or Lasinoh. Anyone try that?

Severe Diaper Rash

My 16 month old was sick. We went to the dr and was given a medication to take at bedtime (once a day). It has given her a little diahrea. I have changed her as quickly as I know that she has dirtied them. It isn't constantly, but usually in the morning I will change her about 4 or 5 times in a 20 minute period. It is like the medicine has made her poop very acidic and it is eating the skin off her. She is in pain. I will put new diapers on her and she will grab at the diapers and whine. She hyperventilates just to get them changed and...

21 Month Old with Rashes on Legs and Spreading

My 21 month old son has had a scabby rash behind one knee for over 6 months. The doctor thought it was yeast and at one time gave us prescription yeast cream for it, but it did not go away. We have since tried EVERYTHING to get rid of it including neosporin, gold bond powder, resinol, etc. It occasionally gets better for a few days but then it always gets worse again, it never completely goes away. In the past two days he has also developed small pimple-like red bumps with dark tiny little head on them all over his legs. Overnight they...

"Diaper Rash Cream Is Supposed to Hurt."

"Diaper rash cream is supposed to hurt." Those are the exact words from my dad.. . . Is this true???? I don't believe it, but my dad is adamant about it. My son is the point of needing to get a prescription for his diaper rash. I currently using Boudreaux's Butt Paste and it's not working. I have tried all the "natural" ways including baking soda bath, let it air out, Vaseline, chamomile tea in bath. I also have tried a little of the Up and Up diaper rash cream which is the one that is hurting my son. The second it touches his skin all...

Advice on Almost 15Month Old's Rash

My daughter just got a rash a day ago on her vagina. I thought it was a diaper rash at first, but there are little red bumps on her. She has only ever had one diaper rash and it didn't look like this before. I was thinking it could be a yeast infection or just a rash? I am very unsure about it I should keep using diaper rash cream or if I should keep the area as dry as possible. Also, she has been sitting on the potty every night before bed and going pee. We started early since she was interested in the potty, so maybe the rash has...

Causes of Diaper Rash

Hi! My son recently turned one and has started having problems with developing diaper rash. Up until now, we haven't had too much of a problem with this but recently it has become an ongoing issue. I always change his diaper as soon as I know that it is soiled so I don't think this is the issue. I have talked to his peditrician about what could be causing the flare ups and was told that it could be a reaction to something that he is eating. He informed me the only way to find out which food was causing the reaction was to start all...

Exzema/dry Skin on My 22 Month Old

my daughter has dry skin all over. Drier patches on her elbows and the back of her arms, her thighs and calves. She scratches her tummy and her upper and lower back often. I have tried lots of creams and stuff and nothing seems to work well. We use cortizone for the itching but her skin is still ALWAYS dry. Is there a different cream that you have used succesfully. I have also thought about putting her on an Omega 3 childrens supplement.
