Advice on Cradle Cap, Baby Acne or Ras - on Face

My son Zachary is 10 weeks old - he is quite healthy - almost 13lbs/24 inches at his two month check up. He has had the acne and overall dry blotchy skin - now weepy and very rashy looking. The acne started at around 3 weeks - cradle cap later but seems to be mving through the head and soon gone I hope. My concern is what do I do about my beautiful baby's oozy face. The pediatrician said it's normal - nothing you can do - maybe try a 1/2% hydrocortizone cream. I guess it looks worse than it is. Will he grow out of this soon? Is there...

UTI / VCUG For 11 Month Old

My 11 month old has a UTI and just started antibiotics. Her doctor recommended that she get a sonogram of her bladder and kidneys and a VCUG. I am a little apprehensive about the VCUG since it is a more invasive procedure with radiation and since this is her first and only urinary infection. It seems as though we should wait and see if it is reoccuring before we do that level of testing. Has anyone else dealt with this type of problem, this type of test? Also, I was told that there was nothing we did or didn't do to cause this...

What Products to Use for an Infant Who Has a Rash

Hi I was wondering what products many of you recommend for an infant (2 month old) who has a very bad sandpaper like rash all over her body. Her back is actually peeling today since her skin has been so dry. I did take her to her Pediatrician who ruled out any illness. He stated it may be sensitive skin or she may be having a reaction to a food that I am eating as she also has very bad reflux along with it. I use dreft detergent on all clothes/linens that come into contact with her. I use Eucerin on her skin which does seem to help a...

Can Prolonged Use of Hydrocortisone Cream Affect Growth of Child?

Hello moms. My 18 month old boy has chronic eczema since he was 6 months old and have been using a hydrocortisone cream prescribed by our pediatrician. We have been applying this cream, a 2.5% formulation cream since he was an infant with varying degrees of eczema relief. He has needed it on a daily basis and we have been applying it twice a day to his ankles, wrists and behind the knee--the areas that are affected. We also use Aquaphor and pretoleum jelly emollients to relieve his dry skin. We have not asked our pediatrician though...

Rosacea Skin Problems

I have had a problem with rosacea for over three years. It got pretty bad when I was pregnant with my first son and recently again when I got pregnant with my second son. It also runs in my family so I was genetically predestined to have it I guess! I have tried many products for acne, sensitive skint, etc. since I was not officially diagnosed with it until this year. My dermatologist suggested a couple of products, like a wash and some pills but they are very expensive (over $100 each). I would love to get some suggestions from all Moms...

Diaper Rash Relief Help

My son (21 months old) developed the worse diaper rash I have ever seen. It looks like he slid down a concrete driveway with no diaper. It is very red and hurts to the touch. I noticed it Saturday afternoon after a very messy poopy diaper. I make my own baby wipes and only use baby bath & baby oil, I cant imagine that burning the rash, but when i wiped him down he screamed so loud and was flinging his legs all over in pain trying to get away. I was hoping someone could give me something besides the obvious creams that might help relieve...
