4 Year Old Son with Allergies/asthma

My 4 year old son was recently diagosed with allergies associated with asthma. He gets a persistant cough this time of year and in the fall. The cough sometimes causes him to vomit. He has had allergies since he was a baby, however, the asthma part of this is new to me. I feel uneasy about it because he seems to be on lots of medication now. We have a nebulizer and he inhales albuterol twice daily. He also has nasonex, zyrtec and singulair. Zyrtec was the most effective, but now doesn't seem to work as well--this is when he was given...

Allergy Medicine - Child's Reaction

Hi mamas, Has anyone given their child zyrtec (sp?) and was there any reaction to it? My almost 4 year old just saw his peditrician and he said he has very mild seasonal allergies and recommended zyrtec at night. We already have a 2 hour battle getting our son to bed every night so I don't want to give him any medicine that could possibly make him hyper.

Asthma vs Allergies and Allergy Testing

My 3-year old went to the dr today for a persistant cough that came on with no viral or bacterial origin. She was diagnosed with RAD (reactive airway disease) in August and this was her second "attack" in eight weeks. She is not on any preventative care right now, but is starting another round of Pretnisone to clear the inflamation. She also uses a nebulizor with albuterol on an as need basis. Her ped is not yet diagnosing her with asthma or allergies, but wants to wait to see what happens in the next couple months to see if a pattern...

Sudden Milk Allergy?

My three and half year old daughter developed hives all over her body out of the blue last night. She has a peanut allergy but we are super careful about that and I am sure that she was not exposed to anything out of the ordinary yesterday. I gave her Benadryl last night and even took her to the Urgent care. She got them again 6 hours after, pretty bad! I took her to the pediatrician who prescribed Hydroxizine. and that seemed to work except after drinking it, about half hour later she threw up. then i tried children's zyrtec and she bought...
