I've been looking for a new one, maybe even something with a liner, but all Target, WalMart and Kohls have are those plastic junky ones.

Any suggestions?

So What Happened?

Thanks all - found one at Kohls. Pricey but on sale and had a 30% off coupon plus Kohls cash! Woo hoo.

My DD's raincoat is from LLBean. It ran a little big (18 mo was more like 2T) but I'm very happy with the quality of the coat. Got it for something like $20 on sale and it even has a reflector pattern on it for low-light situations.

I'd check Land's End or LL Bean websites.

Try Burlington Coat Factory, or Lands End.

Good luck!

I went to REI. I got a quality raincoat for my daughter on sale. But even then it was $40.00. We needed it for girl scout camp. Of course then it didn't rain, but we can use if for a fall jacket or on rainy days like today.

REI, DICKS, Lands End, Internet, and Gander Mountain. I put my daughter in a eco-friendly, inter-generational Pre-school where MOST of the school day is spent outdoors learning. If there is NO thunder or lightning, they are out there in the pouring rain and I tell ya, those Target ones are as good as a garbage bag with a hole in it. I got mine off the internet from an obscure company. Called Tootsies... It works ok, so when i realized that she was cold as well as wet I broke down and spent the high prices at REI, complete with rain foot gear. It was costly VERY costly but I am glad I made the investment, She is warm and cozy and dry!!!

I'll second Landsend. We shop REI sales but that might just be west coast.

I found my son's at KMart- lined and well made. It was not expensive and it has a hood with a "visor" to keep the rain out of his eyes!

OshKosh has the really nice lined ones... my son got one there a couple years back, and it's still in great condition. I also saw the exact OshKosh raincoat my son has at at Sam's Club, but things there are kind of hit or miss. Carters may have that kind also.

We also got another one with lining at Hartstrings... not sure if you have that in your area... they are kind of expensive, but it was on a great sale...

Other than that, LLBean and Lands End.

I've been lucky at consigment shops. The local toy store carries "Pluie Pluie" which are lovely but expensive, and you can get them online. Hatley are also very nice (and expensive), but you have to watch, because they seem to size about 1 1/2 sizes over the stated, especially boots.

I understand your pain - for example, Kidorable are adorable, but not lined, and seem like they would be clammy.

I got my son's raincoats on ebay...I found one a few years ago that was the BOMB!!! It was a raincoat that looked like a firefighters coat with hood and all!!! what size is your kid?

Lands End, L.L. Bean and Osh-Kosh have great coats..SOMETIMES Pottery Barn Kids have those - but I've NEVER purchased one from Pottery Barn..

I know when I went to the mall on Friday - Dick's Sporting Goods had a ton of them as well as boots...I LOVE Dick's and REI....

PM if your kid is 5 to 7 - I still have the firefighter coat!
