My sister just got married and I would like to get her and her new hubby something nice. I don't want to get them something from their registry but rather something unique and thoughtful. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! ;)

I just did a wedding gift called an "EveryDay Display" from Creative Memories. I got an 8 x 10 of the bride and groom, and attached it with magnets and decorated the page.....no tape required! It is 18 feet by 18 feet...awesome! There are 6 mini clothespins at the bottom where I attached their wedding shower invitation and their wedding invitation. They LOVED it, and it is so personal.
Go to: www.mycmsite.com/marycluley Then, "products/services" then "framing" then "EveryDay Display" in White. It will be the BEST gift ever, I promise!

something that someone did for my 1st husband and i was created a jar full of precious quotes. each day we would take one quote out a day and think about it. You could do something like that but at either quotes or perhaps write down your memories of your sister and you. just an idea. We really loved out hope jar

I was given a nice inexpensive Picnic basket. It is something I never would have thought of. But it has turned out to be a gift I have enjoyed the most. Most of the things I can not really remeber who got what for me, or I never use them, they become obsolete. But after 11 years I still use the basket for day trips to the park with my son, it still goes camping with us. Before my son was born we kept pack and with dry goods on our boat ready to go.

It has its own set of plastic dishes and forks/spoon knife set. I keep paper towels, wet wipes, a first aid kit etc. and keep it in my trunk. It is starting to get a little worn and I keeping my out for a new basket, I will much upset when I can lo longer use it.

If they drink wine, you can buy them 3 nice bottles with each one labeled to be opened on their 1 year, 5 year, and 10 year anniversaries.

My boss just turned 50 yrs old. Anyway my co-worker's wife works at a place where they make plaques, stamps, personalized stuff and they got our boss a cutting board. It was cool cause the handles were bull heads (maybe thats optional) and at the top of the cutting board on the side you cut on it had "Happy 50th" which you could replace w/their wedding date or a greeting and on the back, underneath was a huge monogram of the first letter of his last name with a circle design around. It was liked burned on their so there was no paint or decals involved. All very craftsy. Very tasteful and cool. Very unique. I could give you his wife's company name if you want to inquire about size of cutting boards, handles and price. Good luck! I'm sure whatever you choose they'll love it cause you care enough to put thought behind it.

When I got married someone took our wedding invitation and had it framed with pressed flowers. I thought it was great. I'm not sure I would even remember the invitation if we didn't have it on our wall. When I notice it walking by I always get a smile on face because it reminds me of our wedding.

Good Luck,
C.

One of the best gifts my husband and I got was a small chest. I looked kind of like a treasure chest. My sister fill it with mini bar bottles of alcohol (all the kinds my husband and I like) along with mixers (coke, sprite, ect.) She also added some printed coupons for things like free massage, i will do the dishes, dinner your choice, ect. Then she put a couple of different gift certificates to restraunts. We have been married for four years and once a week we will go into the box and pick things out of it. We refill it with gift cards when we have extra money. It had helped us stay close, even after two kids. I hope this helps.

What about a reoccuring gift...like a "wine of the month" club or something? Each new bottle would be a reminder of their wedding!

I've been married for three years, and I still remember my favorite wedding gift. Our very dear friends who introduced us got us a "Christmas Memories Book". (The one like we got can be seen here: http://www.potpourrigift.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=R68528&G..., however I've seen several different ones online. This one is very old-fashioned with calligraphy and nice, thick pages. I love it.)

Basically, each year you take a photo and write down special things you did that Christmas - trips you made, special meals, special gifts, etc. It's really, really neat!
