I had a very bad experience with my last OB. I am planning to get pregnant sometime in the next few months and I need a new OB. Does anyone have a doctor that they just couldn't live without? I want to deliver at St. Marks Hospital in Salt Lake. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I love my doctor. His name is Dr. Bryant Brown. He is also at the old farm location. My mom used him nine years ago when she had my sister and I just had my son five months ago. I switched doctors when I got pregnant because I didn't like my doctor enough to be my ob for my child. Good luck;)

K., my OB that I loved just retired, but his partners are all fantastic. I think I have seen almost all of them once. I actually have opted to stay with the clinic and just switched to a different doc. Old Farm Clinic on 39th south and 7th east, I see Dr. Roth.

I see someone recommended Dr Wheeler. She is wonderful but she is no longer delivering. I Switched to a doctor in the same office and I LOVE her. Her name is Jennifer Kinghorn and she delivered my DD. She was fantastic. She is very supportive of whatever kind of birthing options you choose and does everything she can to she that your wishes are fulfilled. She is kind and patient and truly cares about any problems questions of concerns you may have. I would recommend calling her. She is at the Millcreek Womens Center at St. Marks ###-###-####. If I have another child I wouldn't use anyone else. Good luck

My personal favorite at St. Marks is actually a CNM, Danielle Demeter. She is fantastic.

Lots of women seem to love Eric Nielson, he is a very fine doctor, gentle and respectful, but he does have an odd gum chewing habit! The other doctor and CNMs that are in his practice also have good reputations, but I have not worked with them.

Darren Watts and Vernon Yamishiro have good reputations also, but I can't speak to them personally.

St. Marks is not a mother/baby friendly hospital, they tend to separate babes and moms more often than some other hospitals, you might want to keep that in mind also.

Good luck!!

PS - I see others recommend Dr. Wheeler and Dr. Lamb. She no longer does OB, and I don't recommend Lamb.

If your insurance covers her, Dr. Katherine Wheeler is the best and located in the St. Mark's Women's Pavilion.

I was a patient of Dr. Bryant Brown at Old Farm Obgyn. I love Dr. B .. he delivered my two-year-old, one of his partners delivered my 17-year-old. I'm pretty sure he delivers at St. Marks, since his office is around the corner... good luck! M.

Dr. Vernon Yamashiro of OB-BGN associates (actually any of the doctors or nurse-midwives at the practice). They're located across the street to the north from St. Marks and deliver there. I've been with Dr. Yamashiro for all 3 babies. Even when one came while he was out of town, another Dr. from the practice was there to jump in and do a wonderful job.

I really liked Dr. Lamb at the Millcreek women's center. Their office is in the women's center of the St. Marks hospital. His bedside manner is a little quirky, but that's always worth a chuckle. He delivered my twins and was fantastic! I had to have a c-section and I can hardly see my scar. I had a previous c-section and he was so much of a better doctor that recovery went a thousand times smoother, even with the complications I had! He took really good care of me and even checked up on me a few months later to see if my other doctor had taken care of my complications. Great staff, great doctor. I highly recommend him.
