Hello mommy's. I am new to the North vegas area. We live off the 95 exit ann rd. I just found out I am pregnant with my second child. Does anyone have any recommendations on a good hospital in this area to have my new baby in?

What can I do next?

I had my son at Mountain View last year and had a wonderful experience. However, with my baby on the way, I am to deliver at Centennial Hills, which is right up by where you are. I was there last week, and since it's still so new, it's very quiet, and I have heard nothing but good things about it. That would be my choice, it's also so close to you!

Hi R.,

I have heard that Summerlin, Centennial, and Mountain View, are very good hospitals,I have a friend that just had had a baby at Mountain View and her and her Husband Loved it. Also keep in mind that You have to find a hospital that Your dr will deliver at. Mine only delivers that 4 hospitals and only one is somewhat near me. about 10 miles away that is the closets. So you need to find out where he/she delivers at before you make your decision. If you don't have a dr. yet I highly recamend... (sorry spelling is wrong) Dr. Scarff or dr. Kramer. Both male dr.s I as well as my whole family go to them. My dr. is Scarff and I love him, and feel total at ease with him. they have 2 offices. I hope this helps and Have a good day.

p.s. here is there address and phone number.

R.,

I had my first baby at Summerlin Hospital and my second at Mountain View. My first was a c-section and my second was a VBAC(vaginal birth after c-section). I had a very good experience at Summerlin and a fairly bad experience at Mountain View. Everyone was very nice and very helpful at Summerlin but that wasn't the case at Mountain View. I'd happily go back to Summerlin.

I had both my babies at Summerlin Hospital. They are great there. The rooms are all private I believe. Both your delivery and post delivery rooms.
My doctor Steven Harter delivers there and has an office at the Summerlin medical Center right on site.
If you have any questions on what they do there just shoot me an email.
I had my babies in 2006 and 2007.So recently.

Congrats!

Hi Rachel,
My son is an OBGYN in Vegas. His office is at the Spring Valley Hospital. He delivers there but also at a hospital up by you.( Summerlin Hosp.) Spring Valley really isn't that far away and all of the nurses are great in the Ob wing.( Labor and Delivery) I know I'm prejudice because he is my son, but he is a great Dr. and I know you would love him and his staff. The address is 5380 South Rainbow Blvd #108. Phone # is 702- ###-###-####. His name is Dr. Craig Hartman. Tell who ever answeres the phone in the office, ( it may be Heidi or Tiffany) that his Mom, B., recommended you to him!
How do you like Vegas? Where did you move from? My husband and I are thinking of moving there.
Good luck to you and your family and congratulations on your pregnancy!!! E-mail me and let me know if I can help you with anything else. ____@____.com

I have had both of my kids and a D & C at Summerlin. My first delivery was wonderful and everything went smoothly with no problems. My second delivery was awful. I think that it was, in part, because they were so busy. I was not able to get a room on the postpartum floor. I was sent to the third floor. I didn't receive most of the postpartum goodies like the newborn picture and the formula bag. I felt "forgotten about" and couldn't wait to be discharged. I am also still have billing issues from Aug 2007. I miscarried in Sept 2008 and had my D & C there and everything, once again, went smoothly. We are planning for baby #3 and are thinking of delivering at Centenniel Hills.

Good luck in your decision!

I had my last child at Sunrise and had a very bad experience there, also a few other ladies that I know have had bad experience there as well. I have also heard bad things about the Summerlin Hospital. However, I am not sure of the name, but the new one that was recently biult out that direction I have heard good things about.

Go to Cenntennial Hills! I had my baby there last March, he was only the 21st baby born there because they were so new. We were the only people in labor for the 41 hours we were in labor, and when we went to postpartum we were the only ones there for the 1st day. My husband brought my son for a visit around Christmas time this year, and they still weren't slammed like some of the other hospitals get. The nurses were awesome, we weren't rushed (obviously) and the facilities were very nice...even a complimentary massage after birth!

Centennial hospital (durango & deer springs-off durango & 95) would be the best place for you and your baby. Not only is it brand new and the closest hospital to you but it is the cleanest and friendliest hospital. I know many of the L&D nurses and they are very, very nice and the volunteers bring you afternoon tea and give you an arm massage. They also have a precious baby program.

I used to live in the area (moved 2 years ago) and had one of my babies at St. rose (off St.Rose Pkwy and OMG....can't remember the street). I have also heard good things about Summerlin Hospital.

My brother lives in Vegas and was in the hospital over the summer and i went to visit - Summerlin was SO nice I couldn't get over it. His niece said she had her babies there and it was really great. I think it might be in your area, but not positive, check a map: Summerlin Hospital Medical Center - Hospital‎ - 653 N Town Center Dr # 100, Las Vegas, NV‎ - ###-###-####‎

I would use Centennial or Summerlin hospital. My sister had her at Summerlin and the treatment from the staff was great as well as the room sizes.

You definitely have to see where your doctor delievers as well.
