What are your chances of concieving on the day of ovulation if you have sex the day before?
Thanks ladies for all the replies. I am soo anxious to see the result :o) We just have a fewwww more days to wait..why does time go by so slowly when you are waiting for something like this??? LOL

I always got pregnant the week right after my period. I never took an ovulation test. I just knew that was when I could conceive. Right after my period ended and before the mucus discharge started. It was usually a week time frame.

PS - It may not have been very scientific but very successful, I have 3 healthy kids and usually conceived within 2-3 months of trying!

Pretty darn good! Sperm can stay in your system, alive and kickin', for up to 72 hours. I concieved on DAY 9 of my cycle, although I'm starting to think that I may ovulate twice, at least part of the time. Good luck!

You can get pregnant 5 days before or 2 days (I think) after.
ask my son :)... i recently got pregant having intercourse the day before ovuation, but unfortunately we lost that pregancy very early on. but the point is, it can happen! you can get pregant w/intercourse two days before ovulation. it's once you ovulate that you have a very short window to concieve...
I had to travel when we were trying to concieve. So on our last night together, 3 or 4 days pre ovulation, we made love. We had little hope of conceiving, but I know now beyond all doubt that that night we concieved our little baby girl.

The chances are very good. That's how both of our girls were conceived. The window is about the two days before up to about two days after. I've also heard that if you have sex before you may have a girl (which was true with ours) and if you have it on the day or after, you may have a boy (which was also true for us.) Good luck! :)

I don't know what the odds are, but if memory serves me correctly, when you ovulate, it takes a week for the egg to travel through the fallopian tubes to the uterus, where it sits for a week before your period starts if it is not fertilized. Sperm are viable for a couple days, fertilizing eggs in the fallopian tubes. As I sit here writing and thinking as I do so, it sounds like odds are not REAL good, but it's not impossible . . .
