Teething on Crib

My daughter turned 1 at the beginning of May and has 8 teeth right now. I noticed the other day when I went to get her out of her crib in the morning that it appears she has been using the crib rails for teething. I'm not so worried about the crib rails themselves or the appearance of the crib but I am concerned about her teeth. I can monitor what she chews on when she is awake and out of her crib but she's a very content child and I've noticed that she is very quiet when she first wakes up and I sometimes don't hear her right away. Does anyone have any ideas of something I can put on the crib rail to protect it and her teeth? I am up for any suggestions but I have tried the foam stuff that you use to protect table corners and its either too big or she bites off the material and ends up trying to eat it.

What can I do next?

My boy/girl/ twins actually bit on the crib also but they also would bite on one of the end part. I did buy the rubber teething strips for the rails and they really worked for us! Very inexpensive at Babys-R-Us. But I also would give them the teething tablets from Highlanders at bed time and they worked as well. Good luck and let us know what you ended up doing!

My son turned 1 at the beginning of may, also. He always chews on his crib rail. His crib came with a teething guard. You can buy them at babies r us, or other stores like that. The are inexpensive and fit right over the rail.

We use a cloth teething cover we found at Babies R Us. The reviews on the plastic and gummy kinds weren't very good. Here is the link to the one we have. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3190434
It doesn't fit super tight on the rail, but has done it's job very well! Plus our son loves having a few toys hanging from it. Keeps him entertained if we are in the shower or for some other reason can't get him out of his crib right away. It looks like there are a few more options now than there were a year ago with the same type of cover.

My son chipped 2 teeth while chewing on his crib rails. NOT A SAFE method of teething.

There are crib rails you can buy. I purchased some from Babies R Us I think.
My DH had to find a better way to secure them after my son got them off. But once done, he wasn't able to use it as a teether.
