I have a 3 & 4 year old and we need to begin dental care - 1st visit and all. Though we like our dentist, I feel they would do better with a pediatric dentist. Do you have any recommendations?

What can I do next?

Hi J.. We moved to PA in 2000 and I have been taking my girls to Dentistry For Kids since day one. They do have an office in North Hills at 8160 Perry Highway you can check out their web site at www.dentistry-for-kids.com I can't say enough good things about all the dentist's in the practice or the staff!! My girls actually enjoy going there and have no fear or worries about dentists...and I thinks it's because they are so excellent at what they do. I don't even "go back" with my girls until the Dr. wants to talk to me. We "found" them through the recommendation of our Pediatrician. I can't begin to express how wonderful they have been to us over the years!

Listen to the staff and if you have any personal worries about dentist's (like me lol) remember to keep those hidden. Dental care is so important to everyone's overall good health. Check them out, I'm sure you'll be very happy with them. I won't go to any other peds dentist EVER! I wish they would take care of me!! Best wishes.

If you have trouble finding a pediatric dentist--just get them to your dentist. My son is turning 5 this month. I have taken him to my hygienist and my dentist for 2 years. He does just fine with them. If you really like the people you see-don't hesitate to take your kids there too. Good luck!

I just found a great pediatric dentist - Dentistry For Kids. They are really good. I just brought my 3 yr old in for her first visit and she was a little scared at first, but immediately relaxed after seeing the exam room. They have a playful atmosphere w/ lots of stuffed animals hanging from the ceilings and bright colors to keep their attention. My daughter was so captivated by her surroundings she wasn't paying attention to the doctor.
They have a website by the same name with multiple offices in the area.
I took my other daughter to a regular dentist last month and they didn't seem to be interested in making her comfortable. They just didn't have the patience to deal w/ a child.
