Hi Moms! I have 2 girls, 3.5 and 2 and was thinking of bringing them to Sesame Place this summer for 2-3 days. Anyone been recently? I'm interested in reviews, good & bad. If you don't recommend S.Place, I'm open to any other suggestions suitable for their age group. We live in Connecticut. THanks So Much ! R.

They're at a great age for Sesame Place! I don't think you need 3 days. Two is perfect. The park is not that big.

My co-worker took her 2 daughters last year (I think ages 4 and 18 months) and they had a great time. She said the girls keep asking to go back.

Sesame Place is a great place to take the kids. They have a foam play-pit for 2 years and under, many low wading pools for the little ones to splash and may play grounds and areas. So they do have activities for the younger and older kids (some rides for pre-teens). My older 2 (now 8 and 6) went there when they were 3 and 5 and absolutely loved it. They still ask every summer if we can go (we only went one day, but it was a very full day). The baby is currently 1.5 years old and I am waiting till he is at least 2.5 because then I think he will get more out of it (and perhaps actually care who Elmo and Big Bird are by that point. Go and have fun!

My family just got back from Sesame - we have gone every year since my son was 2 and it is WONDERFUL! It is the perfect place for little ones. We purchased a season pass which would be cheaper if you plan to go at least twice. Plus with a season pass, you get 30% off food and gifts.

You do want to check the weather since its an amusement park with lots of water activities, if there is any chance of lightening, they close rides down.

Also, they have GREAT shows on the weekends. We saw Dan Zanes and he rocked.

We have stayed at the courtyard and the Sheraton. The Sheraton is a little nicer but I would go by price. Both are close, clean, nice and have shuttles.

We live very close to you in Orange

Hi R. -

I'm also in CT, and my parents recently moved here from right by Sesame, so we've taken our two oldest boys (almost 5 and 2 1/2) several times. We didn't go last year, but your girls are at the perfect age for the park. Honestly, there aren't a whole lot of rides for them, but there are a lot of other things that they'll enjoy. Definitely watch a free show or two, and don't miss the Main Street parade. The water parks are also fun, but the water is very cold! I was also impressed with the quality of the food, and the prices (MUCH more reasonable than Six Flags!).

The weird thing about Sesame is that it's adjacent to the parking lot of a mall, but once you're in the park, you wouldn't know it. The upside is if you forget anything (water shoes, swim diapers, wipes, etc) you can buy that stuff in the mall or at other stores nearby (Target, Babies R Us) instead of in the park.

Other tips - a lot of local camps take field trips to Sesame on Fridays, so try to go early in the week. You can get hand stamps and leave the park for a few hours (naptime!) then return later. There are very reasonable hotels right by the park (if I remember right, there's a Red Roof Inn and a McIntosh Inn not five mins away... forget the name of the road - Cabot Blvd maybe? in Oxford Valley).

I'd be happy to share more info on Sesame, what's nearby, and other area kid stuff; I think you can click my name and send an email. Good luck with planning!
