I am in desparate need of finding a job from my home. I have access to high speed internet and am able to work all hours. I am a stay-at-home mom in a financial crisis and have three children. Two are school aged and one is 2 years old. I have been out of the job market for 8 years now. I used to be an insurance underwriter and have a degree in Communications. I am open to any ideas and all options.

So What Happened?

Hi Everyone,
I would like to thank all of you for your responses! I'd like to update you on where I am on this journey. I have applied to numerous jobs in the past two months. Some were opportunities to work from home. I have ye to receive a response from them. I'm sure the fact that I had a 7 year lapse in employment to be a stay-at-home mom doesn't help. I have found a part time job at nigh and weekends at Bath and Body Works and am in the process of training for being a school bus driver. The pay is great, they allow me to bring my 2 year old and I'll be off when my kids are off! Not to menion, it pays health benefits which is a relief. My husband is still actively searching for a beter full ime job since his company is just horrible. He received a promotion but with no extra pay and to make matters worse, the guy he's replacing made $35,000 more than my husband, but the company just says that my husband should just be thankful to have a job! We are still feeling the crunch and it will be a long time before we can truly enjoy life again. I appreciate all your advice and great tips and mostly your support. You have all been so kind!!!

Have you searched work from home? My husband may begin working from home and I have been doing a lot of searching around these types of opportunities. The hard part is to find legitimate jobs that don't want you to pay them to work for them!

Hi J.!

I'm a mother to a 3 year old and an 8 month old (both girls). I love staying home with them and having the opportunity to work as little or as much as I like.

I am a Pampered Chef Consultant. I started with them back in August 2007 when I was 7 months pregnant. There's nothing to it. The products sell it's self and you have FUN in the process. The Pampered Chef is a great company with great people to help you achieve your dreams.

Let me know if this is something you may be interested in. I would love to have you on my team!

Good Luck!

Hey there! You'll probably get a response from EVERY person who has a Home Based Business so I apologize up front but will share my story anyway and you can analyze all your options! I was in the same boat about a year ago and went over every company and weighed the pros and cons and then I started selling Homemade Gourmet in addition to my full time job to see if I can make it pay enough to quit my full time job. So far its looking good but I'm still in the building stages. I think what I have decided is that if you are going to do a home based business it has to be something people NEED over something they WANT. Economic times are causing people to eliminate things that aren't essential like expensive make-up, kitchen supplies, jewelry, etc. I like Homemade Gourmet because it food. Everyone needs to eat no matter how tough times are. HG focuses on saving the families grocery budget and even prepares meal lists and shopping lists to save the customer as much as possible on their family meals. It's a neat company.

Good luck to you and I hope you find the perfect HBB for you. If you want more info. let me know. I'm in Bolingbrook. The starter kit for HG is $39 but I have it all if you wanted to glance at it before you decide anything.

Hi,

I saw your ad and thought I would respond. I am a sahm to 3 beautiful (but very time consuming!) kids. Anyway a couple of months ago I was debating whether or not to go back to work and with daycare costs, and gas prices what they are, I realized I need to do something from home. I thought about doing daycare but realized I value my freedom way too much (and my 3 kids are PLENTY of work;) I found a position with a solid 16 year old company, marketing and enrolling new members into discount health benefit programs. You can work from your house as long as you have internet access and a phone. The company offers 6 months adv. pay, daily pay, health benefits for your entire household, 401k options and life insurance. The position is commission based but very lucrative considering 7 out of 10 people are either uninsured or under insured. The programs are VERY affordable ranging between $19.95 - $59.95 per month for the entire household. This is a booming field to get into given the current economic situation and healthcare crisis. Let me know if you would like more information, it has been a great opportunity for me and my family.

Best of Luck!

Hi J.-

I am a new SAHM & I became a consultant for Taste of Home entertaining-- ever heard of it? -- honestly, this is a great time to consider the opportunity, as they just announced huge incentives- earning $70/month bonus for gas costs, incentives to win free products & also a recruiting incentive to earn you an iphone, laptop, etc. Really great stuff! Check out the websites & see what you think-- I'd love to talk with you in more detail about all of the opportunities this company has to offer. Let me know what you think!
