Seeking Advice About Pregnancy Symptoms

Hi,
I am 6-weeks pregnant and really don't have many pregnancy signs. When I was pregnant the first time, I had sore breasts, very fatigued, frequent urination, food adversions. Anyways, this really isn't true this time. The only signs I have had this time is headaches and I have been hungry. For moms that have been pregnant more than once, did you experience different signs from one baby to the next? Should I be worried or am I just extremely blessed?

Yes I beleive that most moms experience different symptoms in each pregnancy. I have 2 girls and each pregnancy was different just like their personalities. I also loved reading lots of pregnancy books too and they can help with some concerns. Congrats! It is so much fun with 2. Definately busier but fun and you will enjoy watching them interact together!

I am pregnant with my 3rd and let me tell you it is nothing like the other two! My first one I knew I was pregnant only because 2 test told me I was. I had no signs at all with her. With my 2nd I was nauseous but only for the first part of the morning, and I craved a lot of diff. food. With this one I fight to get out of bed I fight not to get sick every time I move and I can not eat anything w/o feeling worse. So don't worry everytime is different, and yes you are blessed! Congrats!

You sound like you could be mw in my second pregnancy. The first one, I didn't even want people to LOOK at my boobs, they hurt so bad, and I was exhausted all the time.

The second one, I was tired, but my boobs were fine. I had a healthy boy with each pregnancy.

Oops, should I have said breasts. Sorry.

Your story sounds like mine. I had the symptoms you had for the first pregnancy, and with my second, I waited way past missing my period becuse it was easier to believe that something was wrong with my cycles that's how few symptoms I had. Please don't worry, I believe the first trimester can really be different from baby to baby. Unless worriing is one of your symptoms! Then I would say, call your OB for reassurance.

Congratulations!

In both of my pregnancies my symptoms didn't start til week 8-even in my 2nd which was a twin pregnancy. So you may be blessed and have an easier time this time or it's still early.

Just as each child is different, so are the symptoms. Enjoy the fact that it's not as bad as last time! ;-)

I had some pregnancy symptoms with my second and none with my first. Hopefully, all is well, and your body is just responding differently!

with my first i was tired but other that i was totally normal. with the second i was sick, had head aches, sore all over, tired you name it. you are blessed :) it is hard to not worry i know. once you hear the heart beat i think it helps. i was sooooo nervous at my first appointment that they were going to tell me that i wasn't pregnant even though i had a positive urine and a positive blood test. it is a long few weeks but so you will have the relief. for now enjoy the lack of symptoms

My first one was a girl, and I was very tired, had sore breasts, and found myself feeling nauseous in the mornings and when smelling certain foods.
My second was a boy, and when I missed my period, I did a pregnancy test that came back negative. I figured my cycle was messed up, so I continued taking the allergy medicine I was on. A week later, still no period and still no symptoms. I took another test that also came back negative. Shortly after that was my annual, and as soon as I told my OB/GYN what was happening, he knew I was pregnant. He said the lack of signs was normal, as were the negative tests. Of course, I had to stop taking my allergy meds, but he said not to worry about what I had been taking since becoming pregnant.
That second pregnancy didn't get difficult until my third trimester, when all the normal discomfort stuff sets in.

Hello,

YES every pregnancy is VERY different (for most women at least). With my first, I was rarely sick and never even felt pregnant besides the sore breasts fact which went away very quickly. With my second, I was sick throughout my entire pregnancy and with my third, I had NO signs at all. Again, I would have never even known I was pregnant if it wasn't for that posotive line on the preg test. So, relax and know it's very normal to feel "different" this time around and good luck to you!
Oh and don't let the "everything hurst worse in your third trimester" comment worry you. That may be true for that peticular person but NOT for everyone! With all 3 of my babies, nothing hurt "worse" than the first time around...and from all the moms I know personally with multiple children, I've never heard that anything hurt worse in the third trimester either.....your body adjusts to the changes and you will be just fine!

I have had 4 kids. Every one was diffrent from the other. I would maybe have the dr watch your blood pressure on the headache thing as higher BP can cause headaches, but most likly it's nothing to worry about. You can keep a headache journal and see what might be triggering them as well. You just keep track of what you ate or did during the day when you have aHA you might be able to figure if there is something in particular causing them.

I have 2 boys 19 months apart. I was miserable with the first pregnancy until about 18 weeks. I had all the classic pregnancy symptoms. The second pregnancy was much easier the first trimester. I was worried that there might be something wrong since I wasn't sick all the time, but the midwife said I probably just knew how to take care of myself & my body had adjusted since I had been pregnant before. It was harder to rest while taking care of a toddler & working full time. The only thing that was a little worse with the second pregnancy was the Braxton Hicks contractions. They seemed to start sooner & were more intense which made me think I was starting labor a few times when I wasn't. Baby #1 was 7 pounds 6 ounces born at 38 weeks. Baby #2 was 5 pounds 6 ounces born at 41 weeks. I expected the 2nd to be bigger & come around 38 weeks. You just never know. Each pregnancy & baby is different. Hope all goes well for you.

I am 21 weeks in my second pregnancy. This has been a very easy pregnancy and all the tests show everything is just fine! In fact, my first was a girl and I just found out this is a boy. Many moms I talked to said their pregnancies with boys were quite different - 9 out of 10 saying the boys were the easy pregnancy. My guess is that the hormones are just different.

So don't worry - in fact, when you catch yourself worrying just remind yourself your doing everything you can for a healthy pregnancy so everything will be just fine.

i just found out i was pregnant with number three and there has yet to be anything the same. every pregnancy is different. but be prepared for the 3rd trimester. EVERYTHING hurts more and is harder. for my second I went to the hospital for pain and turns out it was round ligament pain. i'd been pregnant before i thought i knew what round ligament pain felt like. but that time around it was 10 times worse!! :) good luck to both of us.

I would say it's probably not something to worry about, but you might check with your OB. Progesterone causes a lot of the early pregnancy symptoms and can cause women who are not pregnant to feel pregnant. They may want to check your progesterone levels just to make sure you don't need to be on supplements.

Good luck and congratulations on the pregnancy! :)

I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I had the exact same symptoms with both my pregnancies(sore breasts, nausea, frequent urination, tired), but the second time around they were intensified. I had a boy each time.
