Seeking Activities to Do with a 2 Year Old

I am taking a break from working for the next 4 weeks and will be spending all day with my 2 1/2 year old daughter. I am trying to come up with free or cheap activities to do throughout the Milwaukee Area that I can take her to so we both don't get cabin fever! I already have the art museum, zoo, museum, and domes down for their free days but can anyone help me think of other places I can take her?!? I'm usually working so I don't know what else there is to do with kids during the daytime hours of the week. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!!

What can I do next?

It greatly depends on where you live but if you're on the South side of MKE I've got some great things for you to do!

Check out the Bay View Community Center (http://www.bayviewcenter.org/) because they have playgroups for $1 a day.
Also, the Zablocki Library (near 27th & Oklahoma) has Storytime with a craft included on Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. (free)
Gymboree (Brookfield Square) has open gym on Mondays at 4 p.m. (I think) and it's $5 I'm pretty sure.
The Central Library (downtown) has a Gingerbread house making activity on Saturday, Dec. 15th at 10:30 a.m. and it's free.
Also, on Sat. Dec. 22nd there's going to be a Puppet Troupe coming to the Central Library at 10:30 a.m. doing a show called The Elves and the Shoemaker (free)
Also, there's some art projects for kids going on at the Grand Avenue Mall (free) but I'm not sure of the dates.
One last thing that I know of is some kind of a holiday light show at the Miller Brewing Company.

My suggestion to you is pick up a (free) copy of MetroParent or go online to www.milwaukeemoms.com because they have a calendar with multiple events listed each month (not everything is on there though-MetroParent has more but you have to read through it.

Hope this helps!

One thing we love to do in the winter months especially is go to a gymnasium during "tot time". The kids can run around, get great exercise and burn some energy. Not sure where you live but there is M&M gymnastics in New Berlin and it only costs like $3 per child and they have open gym every day from 12:00-1:00. There are other gyms in the area though with various tot times. Enjoy your time off from work!

You might want to try open gym time at the local gymnastics studio. McDonald's playland with a friend is also a nice playdate. Stonefire Pizza has a mommy & me breakfast that is kind of fun and pretty inexpensive. The local library is also good.

Every third Thursday of each month is free day at the Betty Brinn Museum. They have toddler activities there too. In Metro Parent magazine they list play groups too if you were interested. St. Ann's here in Bay View also has open swim during the week and its always nice and toasty in there and very inexpensive.
