Search for Nanny or Home Day Care Center

I am a wohm with 2 and had success using craigslist.com. I posted there and received over 100 emails. From that point, I emailed about 25 people back. I was then able to reduce the number to 10 people that I wanted to speak with via telephone, then 5 that I met with outside of my home. When I met the one I was certain of, she met with my husband and children. Just wanted to make this suggestion in case you were unable to get specific referrals. Good luck!

I had this person recommended to me by my neighbor who has used her for several of her kids (and still does for her youngest). She runs an in-home daycare in Brookfield. We ended up finding someone else near my work for the 1 day/week I needed someone, so we never met her. Our neighbor is very happy with her, though.

I met a wonderful woman through Mamasource and liked her enough to want to hire her. We interviewed three and she was our second choice. We hired someone whose hours worked better for us.
Her name is Violet and she speaks Spanish. She understands English but spoke in Spanish. As I said, she was a lovely woman and our family really liked her.

Hi there! I know how hard and scary it is to search for someone to care for your litte one is. We just started the search an occasional sitter for our 10 month old son. Someone one here suggested I try www.sittercity.com. I did, and LOVE IT!! You do have to pay to sign up. I posted a job on a Friday night, and by Saturday night, I had 16 responses. We interviewed 3 sitters and loved all of them. They came with their First Aid and CPR certificates. Now I have the problem of picking one! Good luck in your search! (They do have nannies on the site)
