Recommendations on a Jogger

Hi,

I run about 3 times per week about 3 miles a time and am looking for a good middle-priced jogger that will fit my needs. My son is 6 months old so comfort for him is really a priority (otherwise he'll never sit in it). We would also use it as a stroller even though we mostly carrier our baby right now.

Any recommendations/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all so much for your help!

I really like my Schwinn jogger (though I am a painfully slow jogger). No, it's not as nice as a BOB, but at half the price, I think it's great. Plus, it has a tray for the baby. Again, I am really slow - if you jog fast enough, a tray isn't going to hold a kid's snacks no matter what. Also, I find it sits a little more upright than the BOB, which was a factor for my daughter since she really didn't like laying back, especially as she got older.

Anyway, here's a link to amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Schwinn-Wheeler-Jogging-Stroller-Bl...

It took my husband several months to convince me to get a BOB stroller. I can't believe I wasted all that time. It just seemed too expensive. The price is well worth it and I have never read a bad review for the BOB which wasn't true of other strollers I researched. My son is going to be 4 in April and we are still using it.

I love the Bob revolution. They have other styles and wheel choices for different terrain. I won't kid you, they're pricey but well worth it. It is our only stroller and can go on sand and snow. I walk down steep hills to the farmer's market every sunday, load it up with stuff and it's still easy to push up the hill.

The Bob Revolution is a great stoller. I use it for my normal stroller and running 4 times a week. It is pricey but well worth it. You can also try to find a used one on craigslist or ebay.

Ditto on the BOB. Make sure you get the one with the locking front wheel.

I guess I am out of the Bob loop, I have never even heard of it, but I was pretty easy and just bought a "Jeep" jogging stroller from Target, and I use it a lot, I run on trails and everything and it has held up very good now for about 2 years, it has a built in IPOD (or whatever you use) so you dont wear headphones, you plug it into this little box thats on the handles and it plays out load and I ts light weight. It is kind of bulky for an everyday stroller, but I see people use joggers all the time for regular strollers. Depending on what kind of car you drive, it may be big for a trunk (I have a truck and just put it in the truck bed). But yeah, just decide on what price range you are willing to spend, there are a lot out there.
Good Luck and its a great feeling running again after a little one!!I am now looking at a double stroller as I am due with #2 late spring

I LOVE my BOB Revolution, absolutely worth the money to me! Especially if you jog so often, you'll be grateful you have a good stroller that is comfortable for your kiddo.

Looks like I'll be redundant to also recommend the BOB revolution. I also have both the single and the dualie. The single is light, folds up easily, and works well for an everyday stroller. I tended to carry my little ones more often than use a stroller too, but still use the single frequently for all day trips to Sea World etc. It ends up carrying our stuff more than either of the kids, but it you can maneuver it with one hand easily, so no problem to push it while carrying or holding hands with a child.

The only complaint that I have had (and maybe they have improved this with more recent models) is that the single is so light that the front wheel jitters horribly if you try to run (or even walk very briskly) without locking the wheel in place).

We've had our Bob Revolution now for 4 years. LOVE IT! So much that we when had our daughter, we also got the Bob Revolution Duallie. LOVE THEM BOTH! My hubby runs, I use them for my everyday running around with the kids. The Bob rolls over EVERYTHING from sand to mud to grass. We have taken it on easy hikes, to the beach, to the amusement parks, etc.

Check out Craigslist for them, but they go fast.

For the best price brand new, get it from REI. Twice a year they go on sale for 25% off at REI. You can order it online and have it free shipped to your local store. I got out Revolution on sale w/ the handlebar console for under $300. Then 2 years ago when we bought our Duallie, I got it on sale with the handlebar console for under $500 (usually $550 for the stroller plus $35 for the handlebar console). I think they usually go on sale Labor Day Weekend and Memorial Day weekend.

So worth the money!

I have the City Jogger. It has been a good stroller. However its about two yrs old and the seats are ripping. I have not gone over the weight requirement, and City jogger wants me to pay over $100 for a new seat cover. I have no seen that with the Bob. So Bobs customer service seems to be better.

I use the Instep Safari jogger which I purchased because it was reasonably priced and could work well as a jogger and as a day to day stroller. It has fairly large wheels so it isn't always the most convenient for errands, but it works. For jogging it must be used in the locked position. Also, it comes with an attachment so it can be used with an infant carrier car seat, baby cup holder to replace attachment, and parent cup holder tray. Other strollers (BOB) require you to purchase these features separately. It came to around $200 with tax, shipping etc.

We have a BOB and love it. We got it when our son was 8 mos. and he loves going in it also. The only con is that your baby should probably be a couple of months older, but I'd ask your pediatrician. Have fun!

I have to agree go with a BOB Revolution!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE my BOB. It's so easy to push, you really just have to guide it around. My son loves it too! You might try craigslist for a used one, they don't show up often for sale uses but you could get lucky.
REI sells them and some higher end bike shops.
