1. Raintree Pediatrics. I can't say enough good things about them. We see Sabrina and LOVE her.
2. I hate my PCP, so I look forward to hearing who is recommended here.
3. None
4. I use Dr. Bruce Rajala, but I know some people are uncomfortable with a male OBGYN
5. There is The Village of Allen, that has a small "town" for the kids to play in, and The Village of Fairview (across the street) has a beach and a fountain the kids can run in. My 2 year old loves it. There is also Celebration Park that has a splash park and a regular park. What I love about the park is that it's handicap accessible so there are a lot of ramps to the toys without a lot of stairs. During the school year, there are tons of story times and a preschool hour at metroplex gym. There is a Pump It Up in Frisco that has preschool hours on Monday. Check out www.aroundtownkidsallen.com. There is a Nature center in McKinney (Heard Museum) and an Indoor Safari in Plano.
6. I've used SS Noah for a hourly daycare and I've heard good things about Adventure Kids in McKinney.

YAY! Welcome to Allen, you will LOVE it here! I saw your other post as well, so I will tell you that anywhere you go in Allen you will land in a great school district, but in your price range if you're going on the west side, look at Watters Crossing. They have big trees, older homes but well built, LOTS of kids and tons for the kiddos to do and lots of moms support. East side, Lost Creek Ranch is pretty good. Several parks and a pool. You'll get more house for the money on the east side, (I would personally stay north of McDermott on the east side, but that's just me.I live over here) but Watters Crossing has Norton Elementary which has been voted the best elementary school I think in Texas (which is saying a lot!). Okay, on to the list:
1) Raintree Pediatrics IS good.
2) I just went to Dr. Doerner and love him. http://markdoernermd.com/default.aspx Dr. Chartrand is a wholistic dr in McKinney and is awesome for everyone, but he doesn't take insurance....just another option.
3) Kids Pediatric Dentistry http://www.kidspediatricdentistry.com/ is great
4) Dr. Jennifer Allen....saved my life, and is one of my dearest friends. She is with Frisco Obstetrics now I believe (just went to a new practice because she wasn't happy with how the other one treated their patients!) http://www.friscoobgyn.com/
5) You will see when you get here, your only trouble will be deciding what to do first. :)
6) There is a drop in daycare place near a furniture store. I've never used them, so I can't personally recommend them, but you will surely meet up with potential babysitters around here!
7) There are outdoor concerts, outdoor nighttime movies for families, splash parks/pads, parks galore, our Chuck E Cheese has just been redone and is typically very clean (surprisingly). The Shops At Willow Bend in West Plano has the best play area for litttttle kids. Except for Chuck E Cheese, all of those things are FREE and FUN!

3. Dr Wayne Ku in west Plano. http://www.planodentalexcellence.com/ I had some fillings done and he called me that night (around 7pm) to check on me to make sure that the anesthesia wore off and to make sure I didn't have any problems.
5. The Children's Museum at Fair Park (near downtown Dallas) is where we like to go when it's too hot to play outside. I've had a membership for two years now. My kids are 5 and 1.

Awesome city with great schools. I wish we had considered it when we moved to McKinney. The high school band just won some great awards. What I really like about their band program is that is if you child is in the band, he/she is in the band! Our HS punished my son for missing a few days of summer practice by never letting him march in the band. We had to take our younger son out for even worse problems with the band director.
The nautatorium is great. It has a special play area for small children.

We live in McKinney which is super close :)

1. ABC Pediatric, Dr. Suzanne Davis. I have a 10 month old son and a 5 year old daughter, we have been seeing her since Isabelle was 4 and just adore everyone in the office. The people in the front always recognize us (not because we are there all the time or anything just normal visits.. LOL). They have a great after hours center and we can always get in when we need to for sick visits.. Wonderful, love, love...http://www.abcpediatrics-mckinney.com/

2. My husband and I use Dr. Lucio Gonzales (PA) in McKinney at Familywise Healthcare. He is amazing, will spend all the time you need with him, is big into preventative maintenance, and is also easy to get in to see if you are sick. He is only a PA but I honestly feel that he is more thorough than any doctor I have ever seen. http://www.familywisehealth.com/

3. Dr. Tim Brister http://www.texaspediatricdentistry.com/ so good with kids, my daughter loves going to the dentist. The dentist that hubs and I use is in Plano (a little drive) but he is sooo worth it. I have tried many of them in McKinney and Frisco and keep going back to Dr. Lazaris http://www.texasdentalpa.com/about-us.html

4. Craig Ranch OBGYN, have had both kids with them and all of the doctors are great! My favs are Joyner and Roberts http://www.craigranchobgyn.com/

5. All of the local libraries are fun, there is the Allen Natatorium, the Dallas Zoo, Hawaiian Falls in The Colony, and it seems like most of the parks have splash parks.. You must check out Celebration Park in Allen, it is awesome http://www.cityofallen.org/departments/parks_recreation/p...

6. Can't help on the sitters, find a great church if you have not already and check with the people in the nursery (we attend Stonebridge United Methodist in McKinney and love visitors :)

I hope this helps, and good luck with your move!

Welcome to Allen!!

We have an only child, girl, 16 and we've lived in Plano/Allen since 1989. LOVE IT. I say Plano/Allen because we live in West Allen and we are Plano ISD schools. Still.. LOVE IT. We live in Suncreek in the section that backs up to the 85 acre park, lots of wildlife (bobcats, raccoons, owls, snakes (least favorite), coyotes, etc) Large yard, very private area... unlike TX. Watters Crossing does have some good nice areas as does the neighborhoods off Bethany Dr.

1. I use Piga Primary Care in Frisco for my daughter. She LOVES Dr. Naomi and Dr. Versaille. This is a family owned practice. We started with Piga Pediatrics in 1994 when daughter was born with Nena Piga (mom). Naomi Piga (daughter) joined the practice a few years ago and has since left mom's practice to join her brother Jon and his wife Versalle. They are located off Warren Pky in Frisco (15 minutes) ###-###-####

2. Can't help you there

3. We go to Dr. Thomas Bingham in Garland (15 minutes away) Great! Daughter no longer goes to pediatric dentist. She had a great one but he passed aaway and she moved to our dentist.

4. Ivan Rovner, N TX OB/GYN located at Medical Center Plano. All Dr's in this group are great.

5. Can't much with a 2 yr old... many changes have taken place since our daughter was 2

6. my daughter babysits for 3 families on our street. She averages $12-$15/hr CASH. The going rate is pretty much $10/hr... she is fortunate right now and counting her blessings for these families!!

7. I don't know where you are moving from but the Dallas area has a ton of things to do. We love the great proximity to the 2 airports and being able to be on either coast within a couple of hours.

8. Feel free to PM me if you want. We love this area.

EDITED: DUH I forgot to add Watters Creek shopping center. LOVE the place. I'm at Market Street grocery daily, my daughter volunteers with Watters Creek to work on Lucky Duck Kids Club which is some fun activity once a month. THey also have live bands Thurs-Sun.... you can bring your picnic or grab pizza at Grimaldi's (best) or one of the restaurants in the center. They have lots of family friendly activities.
