Random Question - Sheets

The decorative top end of my flat sheet on all my sheet sets ends up getting wrinkled and folded over/creased. Short of ironing my sheets, what can I do to prevent this? Any tips, type of sheets to buy?? While I don't buy super expensive sheets, I buy decent ones. Pull them out of the dryer almost immediately and put on the beds.
I know. First world problem, but it is just bugging me.

TIA

Update: I know it is not a huge deal, it is just a little OCD tick I have about some things and this is one of them - and short of ironing the sheet - which I was about to!- wanted to make sure I wasn't missing an easy fix:)

Added: Nervvy - no. I have to have a flat sheet. it feels gross to me not to have a barrier that I can easily clean between me and my comforter. Even if covered by an easily washable, but pain in the rear to stuff duvet:)

What can I do next?

Would you consider switching to a duvet and just a fitted sheet? Found life got a lot easier when we did!

I really like the high performance sheets I just purchased at Target. They were on sale. 100% cotton. I think it is a Target brand and they come in a variety of solid colors. Very comfortable and fit the extra deep mattress very well.

Don't buy cotton sheets. Buy a polyester blend, perma press, micro-fiber, or satin. Flannel has a lot of cotton so it's going to wrinkle too.

Buying a sheet set that is not prone to wrinkle is going to be better. Otherwise it could be that that particular set of sheets was cut where the fold of the fabric was where your top is.

C.,
I totally sympathize, even though most will perceive this as a very trivial matter, I find the same thing annoying.

All new sheets come out of package perfectly smooth across the top, but as soon as they are washed, the band across has a "permanent" crease or fold. I have used many different fabrics and many high quality sheets, no matter what price or thread count, I find this on EVERY top sheet I have ever had. I just made beds at my son's house the other day and all of their sheets are the same, folded crease in the top hem, decorative area.
The only way to get it out is to IRON, or next option IGNORE.

I'm doing laundry now...so I should double check when I pull them out...really...sheets are on the beds covered by a bedspread or a blanket...so I have to admit - I don't pay attention to them!!

if they are for the guest bed and you want them looking "perfect"? Iron them. If not? I know my guests are concerned about the top of the sheet getting creased....

I don't think I've got this problem!!! how interesting...now you make me want to look!

No answers for you there. The only time my sheets are exposed are when I'm sleeping, in which case it's dark and I can't see them, so I don't care, or I'm having sex, in which case, they're going to get a lot more wrinkled before it's over, so I don't care.

I've noticed it, too. Only I notice it more when I am folding them and can't get the corners to line up and make a nice folded package, because that edge won't lie flat and screws up my folding.

Once they go on the bed, I don't notice it.

I have never noticed this kind of thing. I don't even use a top sheet though. But when I used to, I never paid any attention to it
