My little girl will be turning 3 in June and she's very excited to go to "school" this fall. I would love some feedback on good preschools' in or around the Huntley, IL area.

What can I do next?

If you are looking for a Christian Pre-School. My son went to Woodstock Christian School for Pre-K through 6th grade, then we home Schooled for 2 years and now he is a Senior at WHS and waiting to hear from Moody Bible Institute where he hopes to go for his Bachelors Degree. We found the school to be very rewarding. Woodstock Christian has been around for over 25 years and is located at 1201 Deans Street, Woodstock. ###-###-####

I know this is not in Huntley, but it is not far. My daughter has gone to the Little People Playtime through Hampshire Park district and it is a very good program. The teachers are great and they start them on the alphabet and nursery rhymes through crafts and songs.

I would want something close and respected if I were you - so if your in Huntley you can look into TLC prechool (Trinity Lutheran Church) on Church St. I have 3 boys who have been very happy there - 2 of which are still attending (3 and 4). They have morning and afternoon classes - I think they are even offering discounts for afternoon. Many Huntley kindergarten teachers are very pleased receiving children from the TLC preschool. I would look into it soon because registration is in process now. Ask for Sue Hansen - She's the best! I think the Park District offers something as well.

I have researched the preschools in the Huntley,Algonquin area extensively due to a very bad expereince a couple of years ago with my first child. I would most definietly avoid Light of Christ Preschool as my son was learning violent mutilating things from other children and the school would do nothing because the parents of the other boy were "rough around the edges". I have visited and talked with numerous people and schools and I found a preschool called Sonshine Preschool. They are just off Galigan Road at St Peters Lutheran Church. They are the most wonderful people and school. My third child starts next year in the three year old program. I have know them for almost three years now and I have no complaints. They have a warm, loving, nurturing environment. The children are encouraged in all areas of their development. Give them a call and take a visit. Ask for Lisa, she is the preschool director. The number is ###-###-####. I would check soon as they fill up pretty quickly. You will be 100% happy there!!!!!Good Luck and I hope to see you there. Give me a call if you have any other questions ###-###-####!

Hi Jen,

I am in Crystal Lake and we use Light of Christ in Algonquin. I have used it for 2 kids and they love it there. The teachers are super nice. Two moms in my playgroup use the Goddard school, one in LITH & one in Elgin. I went to the LITH one and was impressed with the school. I know a couple moms in my moms group are in Huntley and are in preschool but I am not sure where, I can ask them today at our lunch date.

Good luck

I have a girlfriend of mine from Huntley that has sent her three children (her youngest is there now) to Algonquin Preschool at Harrison & Washington in Algonquin. She loves the school and the kids have loved the teachers. Based on her recommendation, I sent my son there also. They work on science, math, music, art, fine & large motor skills, etc throughout the school year. The teacher I find to be quite informative and even other parents very helpful. They have a website of www.algonquinpreschool.org or I am sure you can call the Director (C. Thrasher) at ###-###-#### for more information. Hope this helps you!
