Hey ladies - I am the organizer of a playgroup in the Murfreesboro area. The age range in our children is 12 months - 4 years old. The majority of the children are 2-3. We have been meeting together for almost 2 years now and it seems that we just keep doing the same things over and over. I am looking for some brand new ideas of what we can do in and around Murfreesboro. Flood me with your ideas both big and small! Thanks in advance.

What can I do next?

How about assigning each one of them a time where they plan and tell them that you want something different that they haven't done before and give a prize (maybe dinner for 2 out) at the end who votes for the most unique day out. Make it fun and exciting for them to come up with something cool to do.
I want to join you at some point. I have alot going on right now. Good luck!

Hey,

It's J. Smith. Don't forget about the pick your own things coming up. Apple and peach season is coming. So is the pumpkin patch. I took the group to some plant nurseries and the kids got to pick out small flowers to take home. The one we went to also had a butterfly garden. I can't remember the name. We would also go to the bookstore for their story time or we would read a book or two outloud to the kids. Then move to the train table and then have lunch at Chic Fil A. The kids really liked that and as the moms took turns reading or watching the kids at the train table the other moms would get coffee. You can bring it to the back area. The bicycle, tricycle, scooter, trips along the greenway were always popular. The greenway near the ...... General Bragg, I think thats the name. It's near the dog park where Old Nashville highway goes under the train tracks and becomes ..... maybe college st. The Greenway there runs along a stream and is mostly covered and flat. We would also go to the area around the Old Fort playground, and play hide and go seek, duck duck goose, play with soccer balls, bubbles, etc. Almost like a field day.

Good luck and email anytime. I have INTERNET now ! ! !

I am a Creative Memories Consultant and right now I can get a photo album party for $50 for 12 kids! Its really cute and Mom can help the kid. I do these a lot for birthday parties, but it would transition well to the Moms group. email me if you want more info!

I would also visit different parks: Barefield Crescent, Old Fort, Seigel Soccer Park, the playyard at the mall. The zoo is also awesome. I would stay away from the playground fort-to easy to loose the kids! Also, Discovery Center is a love of my kids. You can also go to MTSU's Dairy Farm on Manson Pike. Its neat!

picnic at the park

Discovery Center

mini wading pool inside Patterson Park (water sprayers)
set up water toys at your house....slip and slide, water balloons, water guns, etc

Smyrna has a park that has those sprayers that shoot up from the ground, picnic tables everywhere and the kids love it, it is right at the light....begins with an "E"...coming from M'boro, a main intersection....the park has the same name...a man's name....sorry..someone should know it, can't remember.

bowling

bumper cars behind the white castle next to Walmart...I think mini golf might be back there too
