Hi Mom's,

My treat to myself after I give birth in early February, is an updated wardrobe. I like J.Jill, Lands' End....and I wear a lot of dresses...in general, comfy, quality clothes that are a bit trendy. This year, though, we are on a tight budget. Any ideas of where to shop...?

Thanks!

NY&co.!!!!!!!!!!! At first glance the clothes seem expensive, but if you sign up for coupons there AMAZING. $30 off a $90, $20 off a $60, and $10 of a $30 purchase is the current deals running now. And they are always running some type of sale . I got three pairs of jeans, a dress for a wedding, two tank tops, a pair of sunglasses, and jewelry all for under $150 using ther sales and coupons. Deff. worth checking out. And there petite jeans are the only kind I can wear I'm only 5ft and they fit perfectly. They carry casual and dressy, coats, shoes, purses and jewelry, etc....Check it out!!Congrats on the new baby too!!!!!!!!

Have you tried consignment stores yet? You might find some of your favorite clothing there - not the very latest thing, perhaps, but fashionable enough to make you feel beautiful. Keep in mind, also, that it will take a little while to get your figure back, so this idea may be satisfactory for you at least for the interim.

I'm on a clothes budget of practically zero, and I find J. Jill, Coldwater Creek, Lands' End, and other good brands at the thrift stores! I shop regularly and am very picky. I also keep my eyes open for summer things in the winter and winter things in the summer. It's amazing what "gold" you can find when you are patient enough to "dig through the dirt" (not trying to disparage other clothes; it's just what that method of shopping feels like!).

I love LOFT! Very cute and stylish clothes. Their full price items aren't over the top expensive but can get pricey on a budget. Get on their email and mail distribution and you will never pay full price because you can plan to shop when they have sales---I feel like at least a outlet times a month everything is 30-50% off! I feel like I get Kohl's and Target prices for much better quality clothing. Happy Shopping!

This answer might surprise you, but check out QVC. They really have some hip cool clothes on now by well known designers, including Isaac Mizrahi whom I adore. Lisa Rinna recently started showing a line that is divine and Marc Bouwer, R. Zoe and Clinton Kelly too. The pieces are very good quality at affordable prices and aimed at a younger demographic. Many things are offered on EZ Pay so you can spread out the costs as well. Makes buying some pieces more affordable. I used to turn my nose up at QVC until Isaac's line got me hooked. It wasn't too long before I started branching out to the other designers there. Now it is one of the first places I go when I want to buy something new. I swear to you I get more compliments on the things I get from QVC than from anywhere else I shop, which includes J.Crew, Boden and Anthropologie. Most of the people I know don't shop QVC, so the pieces always seem unusual to them. You won't see yourself coming and going. And only you'll know you didn't spend a fortune : )

You can peruse their website if you don't have time for the tube. They have video clips so you can watch the presentations online and the reviews are very helpful too. One sizing note, most clothing items run a size larger. I am a small in most stores but an XS on QVC.

Check it out and have fun!

If you have a Gap or Banana card you get credits back to use in store plus they are always sending 30-40% off deals out. I rarely ever pay full price there. You could shop either Banana or Athleta who sometimes has cute activewear type dresses. This is the only "department store" card I own and it has been so worth having it! It also works at Old Navy which isn't as good quality but still stylish!
