Hi,

We're new to the area and I'm looking for some recommendations from local mamas for the North Andover/Andover area.

Our DD is just over 2 and I'd to find a part-time daycare/pre-school program for her. Ideally, it would be someplace where she can go 2 - 3 days/week for 3 - 5 hours/day and would include activities such as music, arts&crafts, appropriate intro to letters/numbers/colors/etc and free play. I have only seen information about KinderCare. Does anyone have any experiences with KinderCare or other programs in the area that would be suitable for her?

I'd also appreciate recommendations on pediatricians in the area.

Also, I'd love to hear about your favorite toddler activities & parks in the area.

thanks!

What can I do next?

I used to work for Kindercare as a pre-school teacher but in Peabody and would not recommend using them I didn't like working for them and the classrooms were always overcrowded. I would look for a smaller privately owned daycare they usually are more flexible and the classroom sizes tend to be smaller.

Hi -
I'm not sure about day care, but I take my children (ages 7 and 6 months) to Andover Pediatrics, located in the Doctors Park in Andover. My 7 year old has been a patient of Dr. Chan's since he was born and he is very friendly & thorough. He will even call you at home to check on your child if he has a concern. Also Dr. Devaney, Dr. Hurley, & Dr. Pritchard are all fabulous. I moved up to NH about 5 years ago but still drive to Mass just to keep these doctors. I am never kept waiting too long in the office, and have been given appointments on weekends & holidays during some emergencies. They also have walk in times.
Hope this helps!
R.

P.,

I grew up in North Andover and loved it! I'm sure your little ones will love the area. I went all public and since then, they have redone the middle school and high school (they are gorgeous). There is a daycare that's down 125 in Andover on route 28...it's called Next Generation Children's Center. I send my 6 month old son there and he loves it as do I! They are really great with the kids. Unfortunately, the minimum for a day is 8 hours but they do go down to 2 days a week. Great teachers and everyone is so nice there. The website is ngccenters.com (I believe). Let me know if this works for you...they do have a referral program. :o)
A great pediatrician I found and love is Dr. Avila in Methuen. There are a couple of doctor's within the office and they are affiliate with Holy Family Hospital in Methuen. They are all tremendously nice and very informative when you meet with them. It's Dr. Avila, Dr. Lehrman & Dr. Laspina that I would recommend. Anyone of those doctors are awesome!
You can go down to Drummond Park in North Andover. It's in the old center by the fire station. They have a wonderful play area there.
Hope everything works out for you and you enjoy North Andover! I know I did and miss it tremendously (although I am just up the street in Haverhill...). :o)

Hello,
I am not sure about a daycare in North Andover but there is a center in Andover off of 125 on RTE 28. Here is the address and phone; KinderCare - 511 South Main St, Andover, MA ###-###-####. The Director is Karen Wood. As far as a pediatrician goes we use Andover Pediatrics and see Dr. Nelkin. They have two other Docs in the practice and have referred many of my friends there as well. They are off of 114 on the Andover -North Andover line. 140 Haverhill Street, Andover, MA 01810 ###-###-####.

I hope this helps!
