I am considering putting my 16-month old son into daycare part-time. I want a structured program and not just supervised playtime. The problem is, I have absolutely no idea where to start. I've heard that Primrose and Montessori are both good but need some advice. I'm open to exploring all options but would like to stay in the FM area. Thanks in advance for your help!

My daughter used to attend Cornerstone Leanring Center in Flower Mound. We loved it. The teachers were great. They had low turnover and used a great curriculum (Abeka).

My sister-n-law is a professional nanny in Lewisville.
She is great with the kids. Nanny LeAnn is what she goes by. Put a message in here for her to contact you. She is a user of mama source.

Flower Mound Montessori is a great school. I know the asst director and one of the teachers. Their sister school is Corinth Montessori, where my daughter went at 18 months. We loved it there. Kids are now at Primrose and we love it there too. (I stayed home for two years, and just went back to work -- we needed a place that offered a preschool AND after school care this time!). Montessori and Primrose are expensive options though for part time. You might check local mother's day out programs. I know First Baptist Lewisville has one. A lot of those programs are just 9 to noon or 2 a couple days a week, which is about all a 16-month old needs :-)

I can't recommend a good place for you, but if you are looking to go the Montessori route, it is an excellent program. However, I had major issues at Montessori Rainbow School on Firewheel. I would NOT suggest leaving your children there. You can also look up all types of daycares and complaints against them online. It's though the state of Texas and Denton county. I just can't remember the exact site (sorry). I believe it's either child protective services or family services.
