I would like to take my 16 month old for her first haircut and would prefer to go to Shear Madness here in O.P. Does anyone have a good stylist to recommend? I am so nervous to get her hair trimmed for the first time. Thank you!!

What can I do next?

I WOULDN'T GO!! I took my 1 year old son and my 3 year old daughter there for their first hair cuts and my 2 other girls, and they did a terrible job. His hair ended up having to be cut so short with the clippers to even it out! I will never go back. One of my daughter's hair was so choppy & uneven. I don't think it's worth the price just to sit in the cool seats and get bad hair cuts. You can take pictures wherever you go & keep the hair. (We went to the new location out at 143rd? & Nall).

Hello, i am a stylist and owner of a salon. I can not request a stylist but I will recommend that that is defintly the place for your little one. Some kids absolutely love it and I do love their concept. But if you have a timmid child I would recommend a smaller salon with a stylist that does well with children. Not all of the stylist there, from what I have heard, have much patience left after cutting kids hair all day. Or if another 2 or 3 children are in there crying it could scare her even more. Again it is a fun atmosphere but can also be overwhelming. So you know your child best and what she will be good with but I just wanted to let you know from what I have heard from other parents and their childs first haircut.

We love Shear Madness! It's one of the few places my son will sit still long enough to get his hair cut.

We love Brandy. I would request her. She is very patient and does a fantastic job cutting hair. We have not been so lucky with other stylists that work there.

I have taken my 5 year old son to Shear Madness since he was 2 1/2 and each time I have awaited to the last minute to schedule the appointment. So each time, he has seen a different stylist. We have yet to have a bad haircut or stylist (and my son hates to get his hair cut!!). Shear Madness is the only place he will let me take him. D. C

I just went there for the first time this week after my 3 yr old daughter cut her own hair. She had never had a haircut before and this was a great experience. Sarah cut her hair and was very patient and was able to cut while my girl looked around and talked her head off. We went on a wed in the middle of the day (1ish) and were the only ones in there. The kids get to sit in little cars and there is a tv at each station with a huge selection of DVD's. I totally recommend it and again our stylist was Sarah.
