My daughter is 4 and will be 5 in July & I'm looking to get her into Brownies, because I think Girl Scouts is for the older girls, correct me if I'm wrong. But anyways does anyone know of where they have "Brownies" for my girl??? I live in the SouthEast part of Gilbert, the new 202 & Power Rd. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank You!

Preschoolers and Kindergarteners are actually called Girl Scout "Dasies." Brownies are 1st and 2nd Grade. Try this website http://www.girlscoutsazeast.org/ and click on the link "Looking for a girl scout troop in the East Valley" on the right side, toward the bottom of page. It will allow you to send an email to the coordinator -- you tell her where you live, she'll give you the contact info.
Good luck.

T. - Girl Scouts actually starts at the age of 5 (or Kindergarten) when the girls are called Daisy Girl Scouts, then they move to Brownie Girl Scouts for 1st and 2nd grade and continue through the program. My daughter is a 5th grader and is currently a Junior. If you are interested in finding a troop for your daughter once school starts again in the fall you can fill out an interest form on their website at www.girlscoutsaz.org and it will be forwarded to the appropriate neighborhood based on what school your daughter will attend. Good luck to you and if you don't get a response that way send me an email at ____@____.com and I will try and get in touch with the right people but usually the form is quicker. I have been involved in Girl Scouts at a troop, neighborhood and council level for the past 6 years and love it, it is such a wonderful program!

Here is the web site for our area
http://www.girlscoutsaz.org
I think your daughter may actaully be a Daisy Scout still.
I know they are having some meetings at our neighboring schools in the next few months. You can get on the sight and sign up to find local groups.
Good Luck.

You should be looking for a Daisy Girl Scout troop. Daisy Girl Scouts are in kindergarten and starting next year they can be in first grade to. Check with the school your daughter will be going to or with the Girl Scout Council office. Check out www.girlscoutsaz.org for more info.

Hi T.,

I am a girl scout leader in Mesa. Girls in Kindergarten & 1st grade are daisies, 2nd & 3rd are Brownies. Arizona Cactus Pine is the name of our council. The website is

www.girlscoutsaz.org

Click on the "Join" button and you will fill out an online request. The nieghborhood recruitment specialist will then call you to set you up in a troop. You may not hear anything until the begining of school next year as most troops only have two or three meetings left this year.

They are always looking for Daisy leaders, so if you are interested in helping out make sure to let them know.

Please let me know if you have anymore questions. Thanks and good luck!!

Hi T.,

My name is J. Kelly and I am a Girl Scout leader in the Tempe area. If you go to www.girlscoutsaz.org or www.girlscoutsazeast.org there is a link on the front page for finding a troop or membership.

Since your daughter is 5 she would be a Daisy scout. This level is for Kindergarten and 1st grade. Girl Scouts is a lot of fun and very rewarding. I have twin daughters that have been in since 1st grade and they are now in 7th grade.

Good luck,

J.

Actually she would be a Daisy. My daughter is a Daisy right now & she 6 yrs. The Daisy's are about over for the year so you would probably look for a troop in September. Their meetings run through the school year. You might want to check with the local school.
