My husband and I are planning to go to Cancun in January. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for an all inclusive resort to stay at. Thanks.

What can I do next?

We also went to Playa, but stayed at the El Dorado Royal which is an adults only spa/resort. BEAUTIFUL!!! Just went last October, and can't say enough about it. VERY catering, great food ( ala carte)-(which counts for a lot so you don't have to eat buffet food each meal.) (8 gormet restaraunts, 7 pools, including a swim up bar, scuba, snorkeling, horseback riding, and lots of R&R! We also got the beach side couples massage, and did the romantic dinner on the beach. Very well worth the money! I think we did airfare and resort for just over 2grand. Happy Vacation!

Hi B.,

Are you and your husband traveling alone or with children? My husband and I stayed at the Crown Paradise Club and we really enjoyed it. It is a good place for couples and for children because there are adult only areas and a great children's pool. You should be able to look it up on line. The restaurants were awesome too, especially Wayne's Boots (a steakhouse).

My husband and I have been to Gran Porto Real Resort in Playa Del Carmen. Here is the link....http://www.resortvacationstogo.com/Hotel/Gran_Porto_Real_...

As the other post mentioned Playa Del Carmen is pretty close to Cancun but without all the craziness of Cancun. We loved the resort (Gran Porto Real) and thought it was an awesome deal. We have been to many all inclusive resorts and I think this was the best one we have been to for a very good price. Now I will say it has been many years since we went (maybe 4 years?) so things may have changed but check out the reviews to see if it is still a pretty good place. The other thing I liked about staying in Playa Del Carmen vs Cancun was that it was a closer drive to XCarat which is an awesome eco park (http://www.xcaret.com/). This eco park is really cool. They had animals, snorkeling, etc. We really could have gone for a couple of days but only went for 1 day.

Have fun and remember you now need a passport to get into Mexico (you probably already knew that).

Hi, B.--

We did our honeymoon at the Aventura Spa Palace...just south of Cancun. It was beautiful, had wonderful food, and you can also do tours of the ruins and other activities through the resort. Hope you have a wonderful trip wherever you stay!

Blessings,
V.

My aunt was thinking to have her birthday at the Moon Palace Resorts. http://moonpalace.com/gen/index.php There's a few different resorts from the company around Cancun, and you can use the amenities at all of them. Sort of like Sandals I think, but more for non-honeymooners. My brother in law went to a Sandals for their honeymoon and the one they stayed at, everyone had just got married that weekend. They did try one of the other Sandals on the island and reported that the people at that one were "older" which I read as 30s and up, not like grandparents. So that might be something to look into also.

For our honeymoon, my husband and I stayed at the Aventura Spa Palace. It was actually in Playa del Carmen, but we flew into Cancun and took a shuttle to the hotel. It was FANTASTIC!!! It is adults only so you don't have to worry about kids in the pool or in the restaurants. They have a great food selection and a great pool area. All rooms have balconies with hammocks. The only downside is there isn't really a beach for swimming. It is on the ocean, but their beach was more for laying on than swimming. That didn't bother us because we are pool people, but it is something to consider.
