I moved to Mckinney back in August and was in your same predigment. I would contact your local Chamber of Commerce and they will give you a list of pre schools. Usually the church run ones are better because they are pre schools, most others are day cares.
Some gyms too have pre school or Mother's Day Out and those are great.
I was lucky to find a pre school so late in August, I don't know if there are any that will accept your child, but if you press in I bet you can find someone. Most Baptist Churches have huge programs and I would check that. Also not only check your town, check other nearby towns as well.
If you are need of time, there are drop in day cares where you can use them for a set amount of hours. That could help you too.
Good Luck.

If you are interested in montessori programs, Soraya Montessori is located off Custer and Spring Creek, across the creek from Schemilphenig (SP?)library. We looked into the school for my daughter a few months ago - they offer a wonderful program, including piano lessons. Its very affordable - around $500 a month for extended hours (7am-7pm, which we needed) and less for shorter days. I dont have their number off hand, but you can find them on the internet.

Good luck!

Here is a reasonably priced preschool option...http://www.pisd.edu/schools/early.childhood/early.learnin...

Plano ISD has a program gives high school students the opportunity earn credit by working with preschool students. There are 2 teachers that oversee the program 1 for the HS students and 1 for the preschoolers. It makes the ratio alot lower than most preschools and the price is very competitive. It definitely worth the look. Good luck with your search, I know it's a hard one.
Welcome to Texas, BTW! I moved from SF in '97. Let me know if you have questions about anything. Take care!

Primrose Schools are the best in our area. The teachers are excellent and the curriculum is fantastic! We had a very good experience with them. There are several locations throughout Plano, so you may wish to vist their website at www.primroseschools.com to find a location nearest you.

I have enrolled my son in youth sports activities (soccer, T-ball, flag football, etc) through Plano Sports Authority (PSA) for several years now and we have really enjoyed the experience. Visit www.psaplano.org for more information.

Additionally, my son participates in Karate. He goes to Vision Martial Arts in Plano near the intersection of Spring Creek and Alma. Diane Reeve is the instructor and she is AWESOME. She teaches them strategies such as "How to defeat a bully without fighting" and "Stranger/Danger" as well as basic martial arts techniques. We have really enjoyed the classes. Visit www.visionmartialarts.com for more info and be sure to tell her Zachary Brooks' mom, Nikki, referred you!

Any other questions, please feel free to e-mail me. Good luck!

L., You might check out Childtime on Hedgcoxe. I had friends that moved about a year ago from California and they love that school. They do full or partime care. I think they even do by the hour. They are borderline Plano and Frisco. Good luck!

There is a fun storytime at Peter Piper pizza on coit and spring creek. The preschool time is at 11:15. You will have to call to make sure though. I go to the baby hour at 10:45 and my babies love it! My friend even hired her to come do her daughters birthday!
