Edward Christensen is the best! I found him after another dentist totally botched a filling on my daughter. She has had 2 teeth extracted on separate occassions at his office and has no fear of going back. I have actually asked him to work on me but he doesn't do adults. His number is ###-###-####. The office we go to is in Lafayette on South Boulder Road between 95th and Hwy 287. I think he has another in Longmont and maybe alternates days. You can tell him I highly recommended him - N. Dr. Anne Birnbaum on Alpine is great. My 7 year old son had 3 cavities filled in 45 mins, no anesthetic, no pain, and a great deal of respect and support from Dr. Birnbaum. Google her and a cute site comes up.

D.,
I don't know what area of Boulder you're in - I'm in Longmont and our dentist, Guy and Peter Mertz are at 1950 Terry Street (1 block west on Main Street). They are super! There are so many horror stories about dentists it's really scary. These guys are kind, fun, and honest! Their phone number is ###-###-####. I would question any dentist who recommends a number of crowns, or won't let you be present for the exam.
Good luck!!

Dr. Michael Jones is a wonderful pediatric dentist in boulder. The kids never even know when they are having a cavity filled. There is even a train that circles the office near the ceiling. That easily distracts the kids. His phone number is ###-###-#### My kids have been going to him for the past 8 years.

Try Foothills Pediatrics. Dr Christensen, he has an office in Lafayette, off S Boulder Road and one in Longmont. My kids LOVE HIM! I will warn you the first time they let you go back but do encourage you to let the children go back themselves on future visits. I have to say it does work better, my son wouldn't sit for xrays when I was there, but when I sent him back without me and with his sister he did great for the staff!!! Kids tend to act up more or be more uncooperative when parents are present is the reasoning behind this. My daughter who is almost seven loves going back without me and my son too, not one problem.

They are very child friendly offices, where all the kids can see each other, you can peek in the window to see your son, they have video games and all that good stuff. All the staff there is super with kids. My daughter had to have a cavity filled this past summer (and I thought it would be traumatic) and they were great with her and it was a positive experience. I have taken my kids there since they were 18 mos old. I had to switch dentists recently (much to my kids protest) as they weren't a primary on our insurance anymore and it was costing me more. I highly recommend them though. They take pic of your child with a Good Healthy Teeth certificate too.

We also see Dr. Birnbaum on Alpine for my whole family and 3 year old dtr. Zero trauma, lots of fun and quick cleanings and out. I started off taking my 3 yo with me to my appt and she sat on my lap and watched me get my teeth cleaned and then a few weeks later she had her appt and did great !!
