JFF - What Was Your Baby's Heartbeat

Just for fun! What was your babies heartbeat and what did you have?

First boy was between 148 and 154 all the time up to delivery.
Second boy was between 165 and 176 all the time up to delivery.
Third boy was usuall steady around 169
Fourth pregnancy: 127 (was the first and last hb I've heard).

I'm just curious my mom argues with me that the old wives tale is the higher the hb the chances it's a girl. However, a lot of my girlfriends who've had boys and girls say that the girls heartbeat was softer and slower.

I'm not using this to determine the sex at all because initially that doesn't matter as long as he/she is healthy. But I think it's interesting to compare and see. And also so I can tell my mom she can't go by that.... lol

What can I do next?

I don't remember at all with my daughter. But I'm pregnant now with twin boys and both of their heartbeats are around 140-145. They have been everywhere from 160s down to the 130s.

I can't remember what my sons was exactly, I believe it was somewhere around 150-165. I had an ultrasound about 4-5 wks ago and it was 126. The sex of the baby to be determined. I have heard the same theory but, I am not sure if this will prove to be the case. I should find out sometime in the beginning of March or so.

I know people who swear by the Chinese Gender Chart to determine the sex. I am pretty sure they're all old wives tales. You can actually google the term old wives tales and pregnancy and there are sites that will list them all. It's all kinda fun to browse through for laughs.
Congrats to you!

I have young adults and for all these years we always suspected the girls to have the more rapid heartbeats. It always was the case with all my friends who had girls.....they were in the 170's.

I tried to predict sex based on that as well. First was in the 160's girl, second was in the 140's-150's boy, third was 150's-160, boy.

I have two girls and one boy, and all of them were between 145-155 each time we heard the heartbeat (except my son, who's first audible heartbeat around 11 weeks was 174! But that isn't a fair comparison because I didn't hear the girls' heartbeats that early). I don't think the heartrate really tells you anything, and I agree, it is just an old wives' tale.

My baby in utero is in the 140's (we don't know the sex, don't want to know). My daughter's was in the high 150's low 160's.

Even my OB says the GENERALLY speaking boys have a lower heart rate than girls.
