What is your favorite bathing suit?

Oh my goodness ladies.... I was at Target and saw bathing suits from Spanx!!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

I tend to wear a tankini type bathing suit with skirt bottoms and sometimes, I feel a L. frumpy in it. I am only 33yrs old and want to look cute in my suit. We live in Texas so needless to say, we wear our bathing suits alot here. Well, I was in target and saw these super cute bathing suits (we all know what Spanx are capable of doing) and it is WONDERFUL! It is a halter type, one piece dress type suit with a small ruffle on the bottom hem. OMG! (probably sounds weird but trust me...this suit is so slimming and really shows off my curves in a great way). I can't wait to put it on!

Just wanted to share and see what suits you all love!

Have a wonderful day ladies!

What can I do next?

Black one piece bathing suits that suck in all the fat. Didn't know Target was carrying the Spanx bathing suits - I'll see you later, gotta go...

My bikinis from Victoria's Secret are always my favorite. I am up for trying something new if anyone else has suggestions!

So, this is probably a ridiculous question, but what is Spanx?!

What is the Spanx bathing suit you speak of? God must be listenning to my prayers....

Seriously, I am a curvy girl who refuses to check out because of it (I waffle between a 12 & 16, currently at the 16 side of things. I have a collection of suits and sarongs, hats, sandals, cool sunglasses that I love. I think I look pretty darn cute in them, although not a hot mama in a bikini, but that is OK, I am 42. We like to travel to warm places so I have to like being in a bathing suit! I do have one I call my sporty suit, it is a trim shaper one piece that has ruching and never moves. I can do anything in it and it stays put. It also flattens my tummy area so that I can sit in it and not have a roll. I have worn it out snorkeling in the Carribean.
I say, whatever suit you decide to wear, OWN IT and live your life to the fullest.

Bikini...

I usually get one from Everything But Water or Swim and Sport at the mall.

I am large perky chested naturally 34DD and a size 2 so I have to buy separates.

I will wear a bikini as long as I can still rock it and I am still rocking it!!

I have gone the way of the one piece since having kids. I do have a tye-dyed Lucky Brand two piece that I hope to wear again this summer...It was my favorite thing to wear bumming around in the summer before kids...so hopefully I can feel confident enough to get it back on my body this summer...that is if we ever hit spring here... Someday's it feels like we jumped right back to fall! So, believing summer is right around the corner...is not happening at this point!

I think it's important to know what style works best with your specific body type. Since I'm short waisted I can't wear a one piece so tankini is the way to go for me. I have a skirt style bottom in black and a purple top.

Here is a site that can help you find the right style, just in case anyone is interested or is stuck finding a suit they like:

Any thing on some else's body!!! :-)

I remember a t shirt from years ago that said "Things could be worse we could be trying on swim suits"

No matter how well I think I am doing with diet and exercise, my swim suit tells the truth.

Lands End is my favorite. I like halter tankini top with L. black mini skirt...I need to maximize the boob region while minimizing the thigh region. Though when I have firmed up really well then I go for halter tankini top with string bikini bottom.

I am soooo going to Target to check out the Spanx suits....sounds fabulous!! Thanks for spreading the the good news!

Enjoy the summer with your new suit. Feeling confident in your suit makes such a huge difference in how one enjoys the experience of being ocean or poolside.

I usually do a tankini top and skirt bottom. Once I hit 36, I wasn't real comfortable with my thighs anymore, so I don't wear bathing suits that show them off. If it's not a skirt, I will wear SOME (but not all) boy shorts, but some of those styles look like they're too small on me. I may have to sneak over to Target...

I have a fake tankini that is my favorite! The bottoms are actually attached to the top with nude slimming spandex. The tankini top is loose so it looks like a tankini, but it's actually a one piece. I love it!

So funny you should ask this. Yesterday I spend hours researching a good suit to wear. I'm a DD cup size, but a medium bottom which makes bikini shopping impossible, since they all stop at size C ( looks like I'm getting ready to be a car model busting out of those tiny trianble tops, totally inappropriate for a mama). One peices and tankinis don't give me the support I need up top and dear gooness gracious, I'm not ready for the full figure one pieces. There was such a gap between full figured swimwear and youthful swimwear in retail stores. I discovered two places and ordered some great (though expensive) bikinis on-line. They look awsome!
Bravissimo.com
Bare neccesities.com

both carry fashion forward larger cup sizes for us mamas with tatas.

Bathing suits by SPANX? I so have to go check it out! Before reading the whole post, I was thinking that my favorite bathing suit was the one that I could wear when I was like 20, but that probably had more to do with the body that was wearing it! Lol. I had a bikini style top with a skirt bottom, but was starting to feel frumpy in it, I just bought a new suit with a tankini top and board shorts for the bottom. I am finding that the older I get, the more disproportionate the difference between my small frame and bust (especially after breast feeding) and my chunky cheeks so I am always looking for creative camouflage. Thanks for the spans suit heads up!

Bikini!

From "Everything but Water" - halter style top, low cut bottoms, pretty blue/purple tie-dye pattern. Wore it in Mexico but can't wait 'til it's warm enough here in Minnesota to wear it!

I have the same type of bathing suit you just described, but now I wish I had the Spanx one. But I still prefer the tankini for bathroom purposes, especially when I have to take my 2 year old with me. The faster I'm in and out of the bathroom the better.
