If You Could Only Use One Social Networking Site, What Would It Be?

I was debating this with some friends. If you could use only one social networking site, what would it be an why? The obvious ones are Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Vine, and probably others.

What can I do next?

I don't use facebook. My oldest son and Tyler have accounts. I've chosen not to. So I would chose NONE of the above.

Is None of the Above (as in NO Social networking site) an option?
I prefer being social in person.
You know - eye contact, voice inflections, body language?
They all add to the experience.
Being social through a machine/keyboard - is just not the same.

When I was in high school and college - I was a pen pal.
And I have to say that snail mail was a very different experience than email/texts/blogs.
35 years later - I still have hand written letters (and love letters).
Anyone got a text that old that's still just as sentimental?
Occasionally old letters get found - in boxes in attics - from 100 or more years ago - and they are a true window into the past.
Do you really think any sort of text or email is going to stand the test of time?
If you want to be remembered beyond the end of your life - leave something in writing (or carve it in stone) - it has a MUCH better chance to stick around.

I only use Facebook and Pinterest, but I don't use Pinterest for social networking, I use it as a place to collect recipes for the most part. I also use it if I'm researching something and need a convenient place to "store" website info. I really wasn't aware Pinterest was considered networking.

Facebook because it's easy to use and I'm used to it. This one, in my opinion, is easiest to keep in touch with people which is why I use it.

I don't get Twitter although I have an account but I ramble too much and I don't like being limited. lol I have an Instagram mostly to follow my kids but I never do. And I use Pinterest to save a ton of stuff I know in my heart of hearts I will never make.

Oh, and I have a LinkedIn account for when I owned an insurance agency but never used it either but know a ton of business people that do.

I would use facebook.

I do not have a twitter, pintrest, vine, tumbler, instagram, etc.

I do have LinkedIn - I use it for work.

Facebook allows me to be in groups and keep in contact with friends and family with pictures and such.

I PREFER the phone though!! :) I love HEARING the voices and snail mail? I LOVE getting letters in the mail...hand writing is a lost art.

Like others, it depends on the purpose of my activity.

I favor FB and use it often with friends and family because it's purely social.

I love Mamapedia and I've met friends here as well.

As a business owner, I'm on LinkedIn but I am extremely cautious of my contacts because I don't friend customers or vendors at all. That could potentially hurt me. ( vendors scout out my list for customers and customers scout out my list for vendors). Call me crazy but I perceive my vendors wanting to "friend " me with any site as an opportunity to see where my customers and other contacts are located. I'm super private in those issues.

LinkedIn can be great if you are an employer looking for candidates, a recruiter searching for candidates or a potential employee searching for a job. I get lots of recruiter contact but that doesn't work well for me since we own our company and I'm not looking for a job.

FB for sure, but then, i'm too dim to figure out any more. FB is a miserable drama haven an awful lot of the time, but i'm trying to get better at just using and reading the positives there.

It would depend on what I was using it for. For connections with family and friends, it would be Facebook. But if it was for keeping clientele or possibly students informed, Twitter. If I used it as an outlet for my creativity, Pinterst or Flicker

Facebook. It's my contact with friends, family, news, everything. This is my only other site which is nice because it's anonymous. But if I had to choose....I'd have to keep the contacts I've actually met :)

I only have a Facebook account for personal and LinkedIn for work. I do not use either very often and usually just check in to see what everyone is doing---and check on my kids accounts.

While I prefer Twitter for news and content, I couldn't give up the connections I have with friends and family on Facebook. If only everyone could switch to Twitter it'd be perfect!
