J.:
Welcome to Evanston! I have 3 kids ages 5, 3, and 2 months, all of whom go to Dr Rachel Goodman at ENH. I particularly like Rachel's "old fashioned" medical values--she is the kind of dr who listens to you, cares personally about your children, your homelife, etc, and actually will call you at home to check on your kids if she sees you have called to speak to the nurse or the dr on call during the night. We think "Dr Rachel" is the best. She belongs to a large practice in the 1000 Central Bldg across from the Hospital, and my impression is that all the docs in her practice are equally good in their own ways (we also really like Drs Robinson and Zieserl, whom our kids have seen a few times when Rachel wasn't on call), so I think any of them would be good. But as with anyone else with whom you form a close working relationship, what is most important in a pediatrician is personality fit. You need to make sure this person responds to you in a way that makes you feel valued and trusted as your child's advocate. There is a lot of variety to choose from in this regard in their practice. Maybe you ought to call them and talk to a few of the drs and see which one you like the best. Their number is ###-###-####
Good luck! And write me back with other questions about Evanston
