I used to have that problem too. This is not from a doctor or anything. I started taking fish oil supplements and prenatal vitamins. I am not, nor am I trying to get pregnant, but I'm taking the vitamins anyway. I started taking them for other reasons, but was noticing this week, my hair was not falling out... I used to have to clean my drain EVERY day after my shower. I never got through a shower without having to move the hair because the drain was stopped up. Now, I don't have to do that anymore... It's worth a try. I really think it's the fish oil, and not the prenatal vitamins that is doing it. Just be careful about which fish oil vitamins you use. They are now saying some of them are dangerous. (I use Walmart brand.)

Hi N.,
Shaklee makes a great scalp treatment that helps hair grow back. It is called Prosante Scalp Treatment. Their B-complex and OmegaGuard would also help, especially the B.
It was just announced that most fish oil supplements contain PCBs, a banned carcinogen that conaminates many waters where the fish come from. A huge lawsuit was filed in CA last week.
About 75% of the vitamins in the stores are made in China.
You can always trust Shaklee to be safe and to always work. You can check it out at http://www.shaklee.net/healthforlife
Don't stress out. It wil resolve itself or you can reverse it with good products.

Hi N.,
It sounds like you have alopecia. Look it up on the internet. I suggest that you call your doctor so that you can find out the cause and have it treated appropriately. Good Luck

I had the same problem a few years ago, I now take Oligo vitamins and Omega 3 fish oils and my hair is healthy and does not fall out. You can visit www.OligoFructoseComplex.net to learn more about the vitamins I take and then contact me if you want to take a money back 90 day challenge with them. Blood circulates through your body every 90 days and if you do not see results all your money will be refunded. Most notice results in just a few weeks like I did. They are the best absorbing vitamins on the market and they are not expensive. M. ###-###-####

While you're having the thyroid checked, also ask your Doctor to check your Ferritin level (long term iron storage). Low ferritin can lead to hairloss, and is easily fixed with iron pills. The "normal" range for ferritin is something like 20 - 200, which is a huge range. I start losing hair when I get below 30 or so... so make sure to talk to someone who is familiar with this side effect. A dermatologist might be better than your regular physician to help you diagnose the hair loss. Good luck! I know it's freaky, I've been there!!

Did you just have a baby? The hormonal change can make that happen for a little while after you have had a baby. Vitamin deficiencies or a thyroid disorder (not as likely) can also cause your hair to fall out. Look at the drugstore for vitamins for 'hair, skin and nails'. I have seen them everywhere, my sister uses them and she says that they help.

Maybe you should get a health check up. I have an underactive thyroid and it sometimes causes my hair to fall out and me to gain weight. I hope this helps.

You could have a biotin deficiency. I was having a lot of hair falling out right before I got pregnant with my son. At the time I told my mom about it (she's a nurse) she told me to get a biotin supplement, and I did and it worked. My hair isn't falling out at all anymore. Get the one with the rainbow on the bottle, I think the brand is solaray.

I have fine hair too...when mine began falling out (I noticed right after giving birth), I went to the doctor. They tested my thyroid levels and they were way out of whack. Even if you don't think that is what it is, go have it tested... Are you gaining or losing wait without changing your diet much?
