Hey girls,
OK a couple of weeks ago I asked about the pros and cons of having a nanny. I decided that a Nanny was the way to go. Now the girl that was going to be my sons nanny has decided to move out of Irving. I am pretty sold on having a nanny now. Where do I find one that is trust worthy, loving and speaks spanish (I want Jaxson to learn spanish)

Help!!! Thanks

What can I do next?

This sounded odd to me the first time someone suggested it but put a listing on Craig's List. That is how we found our nanny and she is wonderful! She came from a family who's mom decided to stay home with the three kids and Rosa (who also speaks Spanish) had been there for 5 years, which is unheard of to be there so long. We went through the awful process of interviewing candidates form the nanny websites - I would not recommend that! I have a few friends who found their nanny on Craig's List as well. Good luck and don't give up on the process - it takes a while.

J.,

When we went about hiring someone almost 2 years ago, we asked friends for recommendations, lots of nannies know other nannies that are looking, we also went through an agency. We used Domestically Yours. We interviewed 3 people and ended up hiring the agency candidate. It was nice to know they had checked her background. We hired her because we liked her the best and because we felt like she was the most long-term of the 3, but we had to pay a hefty fee to the agency. Looking back, it was totally worth it. In the grand scheme of your child's welfare, the cost was minimal. Good luck.

You might want to check Mom's Best Friend which is a Great agency that I work through and they do they their own intensive background check.

Good Luck
