Exersaucer Opinions

We're buying an exersaucer for the baby and my hubby thinks the one where the baby sits and spins around the outside is cool. It's the only one I've ever seen where the baby's not in the middle. Does anyone have that one and if so, do you like it? Is there another one that is particularly neat? I had thought about getting the rainforest jumper one but I thought she might grow out of that more quickly...

What can I do next?

Yes, I have that one - the Around-We-Go. I have been very happy with it. My son was using it from very early on, really before he could even reach the ground. We took the seat off when he outgrew it, and he is 2 now and still likes to play with the table part. I am actually wondering if he'll be willing to let the new baby play with it when she's old enough!

We do also have a Jumperoo and yes, he outgrew that a lot faster. He loved it for a few months, but overall it wasn't worth the money.

We have the standard exersaucer where the baby sits in the middle and spins around. It is collapsible and will also rock if you put the feet up. Our five month old loves it. My four year old wore out her exersaucer. She sat in it until she didn't fit into it anymore. It was her "recliner". She would crawl into it herself and liked to have a snack there while she watched cartoons. I finally had to take it apart to keep her out of it.

Hi K.,

We bought the Rainforest Jumperoo for our daughter when she was 4 months (she's now 7 months). She absolutely loves it. We use it every single day and she will sit in it for over an hour sometimes just jumping and playing. Best money we ever spent for her. I like the Jumperoo's a little better just because I think it gets their legs working a little more with the jumping than the exersaucer's do. Good luck with the new little one.

My 10 month old got an exersaucer for Christmas. It was the "Mega" one from Wal-Mart. We love it and so does he! He has just learned how to crawl out of it though and it's hilarious! The toys on it are so fun and one even plays music. We were going to get the Rainforest one b/c we have all of the other rainforest stuff but it was so expensive! We are very happy with the one he got and I think it was only around $50. I wish we would have gotten one sooner. He likes to spin around and bounce in it. I wish they made those for adults!! :P

I think the Jumperoo and Exersaucers have their own merits.
We had both. In fact, we lived in MD and had a different exersaucer on every floor. (only because we had the first child in ten years on my side of the family and we were so blessed with gifts). I tell you, the exersaucers that have several "stations" and the babies can spin in.... they ROCK!

I have the Rainforest Jumperoo, and my baby loves it. He is 10 mo and still fits it. We don't use it much b/c he would rather crawl around. My friends' baby is 7 mo and weighs 23#, and still uses his. I do not think the baby will grow out of it too soon. As a matter of fact, we had an exersaucer with my daughter and she grew out of hers faster than my son is the Jumperoo. I am getting ready to get rid of mine, so if you are interested, I will sell it cheaper than the stores. It runs $70 in the stores, but they were almost $80 when I bought mine. Let me know. ____@____.com

We have the circus excersaucer from Target (50$) for our 5 1/2 month old. He LOVES it! I would recommend checking out resale shops like KID TO KID in Allen or McKinney. You can usually find what you're looking for and pay only half the price! They are VERY picky about what they take in so it's ALWAYS like brand new. I saw the jumperoo in Allen for 28$ on Friday and it is $80 in the stores!
Hope this helps!

We have the exersaucer where the seat goes around the outside of the table in the middle. I got it thinking it would be a safer alternative to a traditional walker (which my first son had as a free hand-me-down and walked really early on his own) and still help him with his walking, and also because you can take the seat part off and just have the play table when they get bigger (double-duty items are always a plus in my book!). He liked it and enjoyed walking around and playing with the table later, but honestly, if I had it to do over, I'd save my $90! I guess it depends on the child, but he enjoyed his other toys just as much or better..... and he walked when he got good and ready! That said, I like it well enough to save it for my next child or my sisters' kids when they have them! (gotta get my money's worth!) Hope all this rambling helped.... :)
