I am trying to decide between the YMCA off of Tennyson Parkway and Lifetime Fitness off of Legacy/ Ohio. The daycare is very important to me since I have a 2 year old daughter and expecting another. Do you have any experience with either daycares?

I only have experience in the Lifetime Fitness is Carrollton and from what I can see they seem nice and pretty clean. I am VERY particular on where I leave my son especially because he has gotten sick a lot when he was younger from daycares and he also had separation/stranger anxiety and still does but not as bad so in that note I feel comfortable enough for my 17 month old to stay there for an hr or two if needed. I took my son there to see how he would do and so I can get a feel of it and I stayed there w/him and he had fun. I took him there once he cried a little but he was having fun playing.

I hope this helps but if you talk to the the childcare and let them know any concerns you might have they will let you stay their w/your daughter for evaluation and so you can decide.

Good Luck!

I can only say Lifetime is great. My kids love it. If we don't make it to the gym when my husband gets home the kids say we didn't go to workout today! The whoke family enjoys it. I justify the price with all the extras. Not just two hours of childcare, but not having to bring towels, lots of places to lounge or workout, get full spa services, get a bite to eat with or without my kids, take a shower or sit in the suana, and many other choices that the Y doesn't offer make Lifetime the place for me. As the kids get oler lifetime will have more to offer, but even the little ones are seperated and cared for on a personal level with lots of toys and space to run. Get the free tour and see for yourself. I am also expecting in Aug. and still go to Lifetime to let my kids have a little run around time; and will do the same with the little one untill she is old enough to join them. :) Anyways, that's my two cents- T. :)

I have also been a member of both gyms. I choose Lifetime over the Y because of the childcare center. Liftimes childcare center has alot of children!!! If you are able to avoid 9 to 11am. That is when most classes are going on and they are at there peak! If you can the best time to go is from 1 to 5. There is hardly anyone there. The childcare center is really large and has alot of things for kids of all ages to do. We did like the Y but the childcare center at Lifetime sold us.

We also have a membership at the Y and go to the Tennyson branch. Their childcare staff is wonderful - they know my daughter and always seem happy to see her. They were very understanding as she got used to going there and had a few rough days. Now that she's used to it, she gets excited when we go (she's 2). I would highly recommend them! Good luck.

We are members at the YMCA on Tennyson. My kids LOVE going and playing while Mommy and Daddy work out. Tehy have been very accomodating= when one of my children was in swim lessons, the other was able to go to their PlayCare. The staff is VERY friendly and always welcome my children (by their first name) when we enter. Good luck!

I have belonged to both gyms. We joined the Y 3 1/2 years ago when we moved here. My middle child was then 7 weeks old. We liked it. When Lifetime opened, we left for the new "more impressive looking" gym. We last there about 4 months, the childcare was horrid. Too many kids, too little caregivers. We went back to the Y and absolutely love it. All three of my children like the childcare AND the many of the childcare workers from 3 years ago are still there. It is not as fancy that is for sure, but they are safe and well taken care of. The Y is truly a family orientated place and they have good workout facilities. My vote is for the Y.
