Hi! I am interested in making some natural body beautification products (as I have recently picked up a book about it). I am looking for herbs, powdered or whole (which I could grind up), such as lavendar, etc. as well as essential herbs. I am wondering if anyone knows of a local shop in the Austin area. I am about 20 minutes south of Austin, so I could also travel towards San Antonio as well. Thanks!
Check out www.mountainroseherbs.com . They have a fabulous selection. Also, Young Living has amazing essential oils. I use essential oils for making beauty products all the time. Today I used a scrub that I made out of sweet almond oil, organic coconut oil, sea salt, lavendar buds and peppermint essential oil. I love it! And it costs a fraction of the price of a store bought item.

EDIT: I did a google and there are several companies in Austin but try the Austin Natural Soap ###-###-####. They would probably be better for what you want to do than several others.
Try going to theSage and Brambleberry websites for your ingredients. Be careful with the amount of essential oils that you use and don't use mint or cinnamon in products as they get hot and irritate personal areas.

You could grow your own or search your local health food store. You should be able to find lavendar oil and others there or at GNC.
