Do You Own a Pool

I'm looking into buying an above ground pool, would love to hear your experience on it. Is it alot of work to maintain, what company did you use. I checked Leslie's Pools but they don't install them, I will be more comfortable with a pool company that does the installation.

What can I do next?

i wouldn't ever want to be without mine.
it's not a lot of work for ME to maintain because my#1 pool boy does it all for me<G>. we spend several hundred every summer in chemicals, and probably a couple of hours a week adjusting the PH, scrubbing the walls and vacuuming. (yes, i do SOME of it.)
we don't have a company. the pool was here when we bought this place, and my dh does all the maintenance.

I have an Intex above ground and I did all the install myself. Really if you are somewhat handy they are easy to install. Easy as in no brain power, trust me the physical labor is hell. :-/

I have a sand filter instead of the poopy one that came with it and the best investment ever was a vacuum that scuttles around the bottom while I am at work. :) After adding that it has been easy as pie to maintain.

We just got O. installed this year and we are LOVING it! Can't help you out with companies in TX...but get a few bids, obviously.
We've vacuumed it, added chemicals, etc. about once per week.
Don't forget the associated costs NOT in your bids--electrical, permits, etc. as well as decking allowance which will be roughly what you pay for the pool.

We have an intex above ground pool and love it. We take it down during the winter. It is easy to put up/take down. Ours is salt water so NO chemicals. The only maintenance is vacuuming and cleaning filters. Love it!

We have an in-ground pool so I have no experience with the above ground kind but I do know that our local pool company (Pool World) has catalogs and such and that they install the above ground kind...that might be a good start, to try to talk to your local pool company (I am sure there more than 1 in your area) and then get some bids and go from there?

For the pool purchase itself I would recommend Coleman Pool and Spa, talk to James Bryant ###-###-####, we have used them over the years and the salespeople are wonderful. Feel free to tell him K. D from Alvarado highly recommends them.
As far as installation we used Campbell Pool installation - Mark ###-###-####, he is also great to work with and very knowledgeable. Coleman Pool also uses them for their installations.
Good luck and I hope you enjoy your pool as much as we enjoy ours.
