Desperately Seeking Back-up Plan for Party

Try Papa's Pizza. They have a lot of tables, a small salad bar and a fairly large play area, and no dancing anythings. I would go to www.papaspizza.net to find the best location for them.

b.t.w, I don't work for them, but I did take my daughter there for her second birthday and we all had a blast. It can easily handle a large party, in fact, there were two large parties at the same time and all of the kids seemed to have lots of fun.

Well first of all- happy birthday. My son is ALSO having his birhtday this Friday!! He'll be 2! They're exactly one year apart. How cool is that? I'm also a 30 year old first time mom.
CAN you have the party at your house or aprtment? That's what we're doing. But the party is Saturday. We were gonna do the park thing, but it's 10 bucks an hour- too much for us.

some McDonalds have a large (much larger than the usual play areas at McDonalds) play area with tunnels, slides "rooms". All sorts of things which can be used as it is or be the props for imagination.

Some community centers have rooms to rent at a lower fee than that charged by a party provider.

Some parks have a covered area. Montavilla Park at 82/Glisan is one. And you might be able to rent a large room in the Montavilla Community Center. You could call Portland Parks and Recreation to find other parks with covered facilities.

K.- Maybe you can check into the North Clackamas Aquatic Park? They have indoor swimming and party rooms available. Then if the weather is nice there are soccer fields and a park right there as well. Also maybe having it at a park that has covered areas that the kids could color with chaulk or draw until the sprinkles let up?? Another indoor place is JJ Jump in Clackamas as well. Have you ever been up to Washington Park? up by the zoo.. they have tons of covered areas..and a great park!
It was supposed to rain today too..and we only got a mist.. we still went out for a walk.. it's warm enough sometimes a little rain doesn't matter

I would see if the park has covered areas. For my daughters first birthday, it rained also and it was an outside party. Congrats on your first birthday!

Mcdonalds is always good too, if the crowd isn't too large!
