I am at a loss once again as to what to do for my daughter's 11th birthday. Her birthday is at the end of February, so I have time to plan. I'm just trying figure something out that is not last minute. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!
Ask her what she wants to do.
Decide how many are on the guest list. Does she want just a few close friends or a large group?
At that age most girls enjoy a slumber party. Have a small group over, order some pizza, and let them hang out.
A slumber party? You could order pizza and rent some movies. If they like games, rent some video games.
Go skating? We always tied in a skate and slumber party with our oldest son. Last year they all decided to forgo the skating, and just play games at our house. (My son is 13).
A "Spa" party? If you have the money/time, you could treat your daughter and a couple of friends to manis or pedis. Or you could do what we did for my 13 yr old cousin, go and buy some nail polish, face masks, foot lotion, and cheap eyeshadow, and treat each girl to a "spa treatment". I also brought over a bunch of curlers, curling irons, ect, and helped the girls do their hair.
A movie party? Either at the theater, or you could have a movie party at your house. Popcorn, candy, soda, and a movie rental or two.
Having a couple of good friends over to spend the night, play Just Dance on the Wii, eat pizza and take pics of each other to stick in frames you provide (and let them decorate?)... should probably make her and a couple of her friends pretty happy. They would probably enjoy making the pizza themselves rather than ordering out, too.
My daughter will be 11 next summer, and I know that she and her friends would love to do that sort of thing. She ALWAYS wants to help me make pizza. And Just Dance (there are 3 of them out now I think) is a fun time for girls. Even the ones who aren't too "girly" like it. My daughter's 10th, we had 2 of her good friends over. They made pizza, and they each got modeling clay packages to make characters out of. Then they used their characters to film claymation videos. It was so much fun for them. They swam during the day, had pizza, then starting around 7 pm or so, started with the modeling clay. They were still filming video at midnight. LOL
Trip to the movies with a few friends, maybe pizza and a sleepover. Just a few girls so you don't lose your mind.
If you have a ceramic painting studio close to you, that is always fun.

She's a Tween.
So just ask her, what her ideas for her Birthday and gifts, are.
I know a Mom, that even at that age, was giving her daughter pink Disney "princess" things. Egad. The poor daughter was SO embarrassed. They outgrown that by that age.
Organize a grand party for her. Get some gifts for her. Plan a holiday trip to some out station. She will never forget her 11th birthday celebrations.

I have done the spa thing, bought nail polish, eye gel packs, neck wraps..etc. We did a crafting overnighter, the girls decorated pillow cases, we tie dyed stuff with permanent markers and alcohol, used the perler beads. We have had a cupcake and cake decorating parties. sleepovers with movies and just let them do their own thing, make individual pizzas themselves, bake cookies, make a theme for Valentine's day.. play board or card games, what about Twister?
