My little one is turning 2 in a few weeks and I am trying to plan for presents. What do you suggest? She loves books and dolls! What type of toys did your little girl like at this age? Thank you so much in planning!!

What can I do next?

J.,
At two my daughter loved things like playdough and paint.... we bought a cart at Target that has 3 cubbies in it and stored all of her art supplies in this.... She had a small easel and finger paints and that was her most beloved toy. Best of luck!!

I think any of the play Kitchens, along with some play food is great for this age! She might still be a little young for a doll house but you can keep it in mind for christmas or next B-day. How about a ride on tricycle or the little Flintstone cars (they make them in girl colors now :) )

Our daughter became a princess at age 2. If it was Disney and a princess it was hers. she is now 6 and still loves the princesses.

If she likes dolls and you want to treat her to something nice that she can actually play, I suggest a Madame Alexander Huggums doll. My daughter is 4 and she stll has and plays with her two huggums dolls.

Hi J.!

One thing that my little girl really started liking at 2 years old (she's 2 and a half now) was dress-up. Her all time favorite gift at that age was a tiny ballerina outfit my mom gave her, and she loved (and still loves) putting on my shoes, my fingerless mittens (of course they look like armwarmers on her!) and anything else she can get hold of.

Hope that helps!

My daughter turns two next month and we are having the same dillema. She has two older sisters so we have lots of dolls, dress up, stuffed animals, puzzles, all the typical 2 year old girl stuff. I think we have decided to do an outdoor water table for her and I am asking my mom to get her one of those kid sized fold out couches. If you don't have any of the usual girl stuff yet: princess stuff, dolls, dressup clothes and shoes, play food and dishes, easy puzzles, and books were always a hit with my two other girls. Oh My Litlle Pony toys are another idea. I think the Littlest Pet Shop toys are a little old still. I think we waited till Ava was 3 1/2 and got them for her for Chrismas. I think the age on the box says 5 and maybe even older than that.

i buy my kid one big present for his birthday or spend more money on this birthday party. and let the family members or other guests buy the smaller presents. Its more affordable for the guests. Register @Walmart or tell your guests that ur kid likes dolls and books. You can never have to many of ur kids favorite toys.

Lets see at age 2 my daughter was really into dora the explorer. We got her the dora dollhouse and some furniture and the people to go in it. She loved it and is almost 4 now and still loves it. She has always loved dress up and imaginative play so i also got her a princess trunk full of dress up clothes and dress up shoes and play jewlery. Good luck with the party and the planning!

Hi,

My little girl turns 2 in September. She loves Simba right now from The Lion King. I also have a little boy who is turning 3 on Monday. They both enjoy The Letter Factory DVD by Leap Frog. It's a great A through Z DVD that teaches them the sounds and the names of the letters. She's already started saying some of her letters and my son is able to tell you all the sounds and letters. It's amazing. Plus the DVD is cute and not annoying for the parent.

Have fun,
C.
