I was wondering if anyone can give me some suggestions to what or which birth control pills have worked for you. I know that some pills have emotional side effects, mood change etc.
I know that there are some that you have to remember to take the pill same time everyday, and sometimes that's hard to remember. Any suggestions?

I have been on Yasmin for almost two years and haven't had any side effects. I asked about it since my PMS was getting worse and this has helped. I take my pill every night before I go to bed, it's not always the same time, but I have found it easier to remember.

I've been using NuvaRing since April and I love it. It is very easier and convenient. You pick a day and wear it for 3 weeks exactly, take it off on the 4th week and a couple of days later have your period, which mine only last for 2 to 3 days top. Put a new one back on the 5th week and start all over. I love this product because I usually don't think about birth control and there are no side effects for me. I don't spot or have my period last more than a week (this was when I was on the pill) and my face breaks out with huge acnes. ACNES!!! At my age!
Also, I registered with the company, they send me coupons every month for $15 off each prescription refill, so far, I've saved a lot of money on birth control.
I am a HUGE fan of the 10 year, no hormone, IUD! Pills always made me crazy. I couldn't handle those additional hormones. With the IUD, they insert it and you're set for 10 years or until you have it removed.
There is also a 5 year version with hormones and I have heard that you eventually have almost no (or altogether no) period, with that one. That one's more for the girls who need the relief from bad periods, I guess.

I use Desogen. It is a 28 daily pill regiman, but I have never had a problem with it. The only times I've had issues was wne I changed to another pill. The first time was a mini pill, that disrupted my cycle, and the other was when I tried Seasonique. It is suppose to give you one period every three months. That part I liked but I also got four of the side effects (weight gain, irritability, tired all the time, and acne) that I didn't like. I'm sure this is not everyone's experiance and you might not have the same problems. But, for me, Desogen is the only way to go.
I was on regular Ortho Tri Cyclen for 10 years (no kidding) and never had any problems with it. No breakthrough bleeding, no pregnancy, etc. Two months after I stopped taking it, I became pregnant with my first baby. So also, no problems with that.
If you tend to forget things or have a busy lifestyle and wouldn't want to deal with a daily pill, I've had Mirena suggested to me by two girlfriends who both have it in. They've both had children and definitely don't want anymore (at least in the near future). One of them had terrible problems with various BC pills, but still is loving Mirena.
I use to use BC bills... Loestrin & Yaz.. and it was great.... but after I had my daughter it messed with my thyroid... so I can't take them. We use condoms... doesn't mess with your body... but when we are done having kids my husband is going to get a vasectomy.

If you know for sure you don't want any more kids, ask your husband to get a vasectomy. Both of you will have great peace of mind.

I also really like the NuvaRing, I have tried many different types of birth control and the NuvaRing is fantastic. However, if you do not have prescription insurance make sure your OBGYN can give you samples. The NuvaRing is very expensive, even with the coupon I still pay nearly $60 per month.
One word: vasectomy.

Girl forget the pill use the nuva ring. Its the greatest. You don't feel it and you keep it in for three weeks and take it out to have your period. Good luck!
I am on Seasonale and have been very happy with it. It is a pill that you take for 12 consecutive weeks, then take one week off and get your period - so only four periods per year! I don't have any emotional side effects or mood changes. I think I gained about 5 - 10 pounds since going on it, which is the only negative effect of it, though that is pretty common for most birth control pills. And I love getting my period only once every three months.
I was on it before having my son, and got pregnant the second month after going off the pill. So, even though you take 12 weeks straight, this pill doesn't cause any problems when trying to get pregnant once you stop taking it.
I usually take it at bedtime, so it's usually within an hour or so of the same time each night.

I suggest you try the depo shot. I have tried the pill multiple times and your right if you don't take it at the right time you start to feel sick or if you forget it can make you start your period early, etc. I had done depo for a few years and decided to have one more little guy so I went off, had no problems, have a healthy 2 year old and now I'm back on it again. So, 1 shot every 3 months in the hip and you are good to go. I don't think I have ever really noticed any side effects except that you stop having a period. That's the best part. Hope this helps
I was taking Ortho tri-cyclen lo, but constantly had "break-through" bleeding throughout the weeks before my "period". This was very annoying to say the least. Not sure what to recommend but if you find something that works for you, let me know!
Hello R.. I haven't taken any birth control in a few years, but when I did, I believe I was taking Loestrin, or something similar to that. I was on it for 11 years and loved it. As with any birth control, it is always recommended that it be taken at the same time every day.
