Best Waterproof Cloth Diaper Cover???

Right now I am currently using the gdiapers with my own cloth prefolds. I did like the gdiapers, but lately I have been noticing red, rub marks on both my babies thighs. Sometimes my daughter even has red, welted lines on her thighs where the diaper liner has obviously rubbed her. I checked to make sure the diapers werent too small on both my son and daughter. They fit just fine, with plenty of growning room. I also checked to make sure that I was putting them on right. The liner just always seems to eventually work itself into the creases of their thighs and than rub and pinch. So now I am trying to find a new cloth diaper cover. I would prefer to get a waterproof diaper cover so that I can still use my cloth prefolds that I already have. I also dont really like the covers that are just pul inside or laminate. I like there to be fleece or some sort of cloth inside the cover to wick away moisture. I also am looking for one with soft leg opening so that it doesnt leave any red marks on my babies skin. They both have very sensitive skin and my five month old son has chubby thighs right now too so soft leg openings are very important. I also have been using disposable diapers at night, because I wasnt able to get the gdiapers to not leak throughout the night. Even with changing my son once during the night, and adding extra an extra prefolds. So how do you cloth diaper at night? And what cloth diaper systems and or covers do you like, why and where did you purchase them at? Thank you for yuor help in advance!

Bumkins Wraps beat out Fuzzi Bums, Bum Genius and Bummis by a FAR margin in my household. The all-in-ones say that they go to 35 pounds, but that's a load of BS--my sons outgrew them after 1 year and 25 pounds. I used G diapers for a while, too, but the leaking was unacceptable.

Seriously, Bumkins wraps are the best. I've tried just about all the major brands.

I have seen great reviews on FuzziBunz but we have one, and I hate it - it ALWAYS leaks, even after I "stripped" it - but maybe we just got a lemon. My friend uses BumGenius - but she purchesed the stuffing with them, so I don't know how bulky they get when used with a prefold. An additional benefit of the BumGenius is that you can get the one size fits all, so you can use all the diapers on either of your kids. I use prefolds and with my son I used prowraps and LOVED them - super economical and NO leaks. Every once in a while there would be a red mark from the velcro on his leg, but that was because I didn't secure it well or it was time to move up a size. I use bummis super whisper wraps with my daughter, and love them too - I know these two brands don't have the fleece, but they work great for us. I don't have any ideas for you for night time, we just use diposables at night because of the leaking - sorry I'm no help there. Check out craigslist and buy different brands used, then if you love one kind you can get more!

Hi A., I also used g-diapers for my first son. They were okay, but I wanted something different for my twin boys so I switched to Fuzzi Bunz and I absolutely love them. We double diaper them at all times at the moment because they are only four months old at the moment and peeing a lot. At night they go about 12 hours without a diaper change and that works well for us. Anyway, they're on sale at the moment at an online store in Kirkland, WA. My favorite ones were Knickernappies, which are side snapping pocket covers - they had a great fit.
We also used FuzziBunz and BumGenius and I liked both.

Btw, I also tried G-Diapers and really wanted to like them...but had the same problems with skin irritation, especially where the liner attaches. It's just a design flaw in the covers.

I have a huge assortment of cloth pocket diapers. I've never had a problem using any of them with pre-folds as inserts. (with four kids sometimes the inserts get "lost" or used for quick spill clean-up when I'm not looking)

We have a few G-diapers, but my kids really didn't like them very much and we always had issues with red marks and leaks.

After a few washes, most cloth pocket diapers are -very- absorbent and we've had less leaks than when we were using disposables.

Hope this helps!

I use Coolababy diapers. You can buy them on E-bay for cheap. They come with Microfiber inserts and are made in Hong Kong, but work really well. I haven't had any problems with them. I use them on my 2.5 year old son and my 3 month old daughter. We don't cloth diaper our son at night but during the day we use 2 inserts. Our daughter gets two inserts at night and 1 per diaper during the day. They are one size diapers that snap down in the front for small babies and also have snap closures. The liner is fleece with pul for the cover. Good luck!

I have used bumgenius with prefolds, and that worked well. I like fuzzibuns also-- and don't ever have problems with them leaking.
In fact, I have bunch of bumgenius 2.0 that my 2 year old has grown out of (I know they are supposed to be a "one size" diaper, but he is a big boy!) If you would be interested in buying them, let me know-- [email protected]____.com. I was thinking $5 a piece-- they are in decent shape but not great.
Or go to cottonbabies.com tomorrow and they have bum genius on sale for black Friday.

We have an assortment of cloth diapers, but we like our Fuzzibuns the best. Those are by far our preferred sleeping diapers for our toddler. We use pro-wraps for our 3 month old and like those a lot for her. We got ours at used baby sales and a couple from freecycle.com. You can find both brands online.

I just got a couple Blueberry covers they are very nice, inside is kinda like a real thin suedecloth. I got them at the swaddlebees outlet online. I use a pocket diaper for overnight well we mostly use pockets do have a couple fitted diapers though. I do the pocket os with both the reg. and the newborn and now that my dd is sleeping longer I put in a single layer of hemp works great! I also love bamboo for heavy wetting, you might want to try a bamboo or hemp fitted diaper with a cover at night, you can alway add a doubler or so to make it work. Good luck

I use the gdiapers and found that my son had red marks, but figured out it was a change in the fabric softner that was causing the reaction. also in the video directions for gdiapers they are very specific about moving the seams into the folds, to prevent leaks.

I am finding the same problem with our G's. I saw once on diaper swappers site that a mom sewed fleece flap over the snaps. I'm thinking about doing the same thing.

We've used thirsties! love them.
But they have the laminate showing. so you could try Bummis they have the super wisper wrap in a couple different colors that are lined on the inside.
the other great one is Blue Berry Minky wraps! they are awesome! kind of expensive tho, you can get them used on Diaper swappers tho.
