Best Diapers for Girls Size 3 and Up?

I have used Pampers Swaddlers for my little one since she was born and have loved them. Now she is in size 2-3 and I'm not sure I'm still loving them as much. Has anyone else found this to be true? What do you think are the best diapers for girls for the next couple of sizes?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Wow - I had no idea I would get so many responses! When we finish off this package, it looks like I have a lot of options that have worked for people so we'll try out a couple and see what works best for our little one. I'm glad to hear there are so many positives about the Costco diapers. I had considered them before, but wasn't too certain about trying them. Now I think we will. Thanks!

That's about the time I switched from the Swaddlers to Target brand diapers. My daughter is now in size 4 and they work great as well as being about 1/2 the price(which you can't beat!)

Hi there A.,
I have 2 daughters....ages 8 and 2. I used Huggies with both of the girls. I used them because there sold them at Costco and they seemed to do the trick. However for the past year or so, I have been using Costco Brand (Kirkland). To tell you the truth....they are cheaper then the Huggies and I like them even more. You should give them a try!! Good luck.

I am having the same problem. We LOVED swaddlers but now my daughter is in size 3, her cruisers are just not working well. I keep going back to the size 2-3 swaddlers because I'm just not happy with the Cruisers. I'm going to try the Pampers Dry (I think that's what they are called) to see if they are any better.

I used the pampers for my daughter. When she started gowing into the next size the pampers leaked. So I went to huggies and I have not had a problem with them. We started with the huggies supreme and now she is in size 4 and in the regular huggies. you can get the best deal at costco. THe kirkland brand are not bad but i still like the huggies and you get more for your money with the huggies.

We went throught the same thing. The diapers I liked the best even better then all of the name brand were the Kirkland (Costco) Brand diapers or the Sam Club's Brand. The others all leaked for us. So we stuck with Costco brand and now my Daughter Emma is 2 1/2 and potty trained. Good Luck!

Hi

I loves the Swaddler too. I now use either Pampers Baby Dry or Cruisers. Huggies did not work for my girls. Didn't fit their bums right. Way to many accidents. Luvs are good on leaks but don't have much stretch around the waist for when they start to move around.
Hope this helps.

We used Swaddlers too because our triplets were preemies. I loved them and hated to have to move away from them. We tried several brands and Huggies Premium was the best (the burgundy package - I can't remember if "premium" is right). They are contoured, keep them the driest, and never leak! They're great! We've used them ever since and our kids are potty-training now so really, we can't wait to give them up =)

I started out with Pampers Swaddlers also and I found as my son grew he did better in Huggies Supreme until size 3, then we switched to regular Huggies. It really depends on your childs body type how the diapers will fit and which brand will work for you. This is what worked for us. Good luck!

Sometimes you can get samples. If you have friends with different brands of the same size you can try out a couple and see if they work well for you.

I like the Safeway brand best. They are cheep and I think they hold up better than even the Kirkland or Huggies, though I do get them on occassion. I have used Pampers only a few times, and a few other brands, but with all of them except the Safeways, I find the little absorbing beads come out and my daughter gets changed more often than most. She is two and in the size 3 right now and they hold up great for all of her activity. Safeway brand has been my favorite in all sizes so far, and the price is good too (144 for only $19.95 on sale)

We used the Swaddlers also for our son. Once he was in size 3, we switched to the Pampers Cruisers and we love them! They are super soft, very absorbent and have the elastic stretchy tabs like the Swaddlers (unlike the Pampers Baby Dry) and they fit him like a glove. We think they work great. They are a little more expensive than the other brands, but if you buy them at Babies R Us when they have their sales, you can usually get the Jumbo sized box for about $31.99 and we buy two at a time and they last forever!

I echo the sentiments of mom's who love the Kirkland (Costco)diapers...they were great quality and a much better price. In fact I had learned that they are made as private label in the same factories as many of the national brands (there are only a handful of diaper factories apparently). Used them continuously from size 3 onward.

I was in the same boat as you. I used the Pampers Swaddlers until my little girl was able to get into a size 2 diaper. I switched to Huggies Supreme because I found that they seemed to fit her alot better around the legs. We are still in the Huggies and I have tried the Pampers on and off (because of coupons) and they never did fit as well. If you sign up on the Huggies website, they will actually send you coupons from time to time. Hope this helps! N.

There are a lot of suggestions on here for Huggies, but on a budget, those arent always an option. With 5 kids, my youngest being 11wks and my oldest being 9, I have found that White Cloud from Walmart works really great for my younger ones. When they hit toddler stages where they are up and running more, the Kirkland diapers fit better for their active days. Both White Cloud and Kirkland diapers works really great with no leak issues, (as long as you are using the right size) and cost much less than Huggies or Pampers. Best of luck to you!

I went on a quest after the birth of my now 5 yr old daughter. I bought a bag of each diaper I could find- Huggies, pampers, luvs, different store brands. I found the best fit and no leaks to be white cloud from walmart. I am now using Kirkland from costco on my 21 month old daugher and they are pretty good- no leaks and good fit.
I did find that the white cloud in WA is different to the ones sold in Texas so I switched. The cruisers have a good fit, but leak.

If you have a COSTCO card, then the Kirkland brand diapers are the EXACT same diaper as the Huggies Supreme at a fraction of the cost. They are awesome and do a great job at controlling the 'blow outs' of the bigger baby. I used the swaddlers for my newborn, then switched over to first Huggies Suprmeme before discovering my bargain find! Also, when you get to the size 4 diaper and she's soaking through at night, my best friend turned me onto the Huggies Overnights (I can only find them at the grocery store...) and they are awesome, no more soaked PJ's in the morning.

We kept dd in Pampers Swaddlers through size 2. We moved up to Cruises for size 3 and they did not wow me like the Swaddlers so we switched over to Huggies Supreme Natural Fit when she started wearing size 4. I was a little hesitant at first because I had tried the normal Huggies in smaller sizes and hated them but the Supreme Natural Fit are fantastic. We've had no problems or nighttime leaking. I also LOVED swaddlers. I've found that the pampers regular diapers work the best for my daughter. I haven't tried the pampers cruisers (they're pretty expensive) but I've also heard good things about them. The regular pampers feel really squishy to the touch after the first pee cause they pull the liquid away from the skin all the way to the outside so she'll stay very dry...be careful though you may be changing a million diapers a day for the first bit thinking your babe is soaking to only find that she's still dry against her skin :). I also like them because they're very thin so she won't have to waddle around them like some other diapers I tried.

Huggies Supreme, Natural Fit are absolutely the best size 3+ diapers. I have found that Pampers (other than Swaddlers) smell as soon as they become wet. Pampers also have moisture-absorbing beads that can become pretty nasty...

FYI: Huggies seem to run slightly smaller than Pampers.

Good Luck!

Hi A.!
I found the same for my daughter. I absolutely LOVED the Swaddlers and used them up through 2-3, but then she started leaking out of them....at around your daughters age actually. My daughter is now almost 8 months. I moved her up to the Cruisers and have been really happy with them. They give her more room in the legs to move around now that she is so active. The Swaddlers were great while she was small, but I have noticed the Cruisers hold her messes a lot better now that she is moving around more....even at night rolling around! I had several sheet changes when she was a size 2-3 in Swaddlers. The Cruisers have been a lot better for this stage in her development. I haven't tried too many less expensive diapers (I tried some early on and liked the Swaddlers better.) so I can't give you a comparison. I have just been so happy with the Cruisers I haven't wanted to switch. I will say this...I actually grieved a little moving her from the Swaddlers though. It meant my baby was growing up! Have a great day! K.

We started out with Pampers, but I wish I had known about the NEW types of cloth diapers out there that work so well and are so SIMPLE to use!!! They're NOTHING like the old fashioned cloth diapers! NO pins, NO plastic pants, NO dunking in the toilet. Plus, baby stays drier and we've had much less redness and rash since switching over to this new style of cloth diapers and they feel so much softer than disposables. There are several brands of these new cloth diapers that adjust in size to grow with your baby, so they're very economical over time. (bumgenius is one of the most popular brands) Oh, and they're CUTE as can be!!! I like them so much that I started my own business selling them once I'd tried them. You can check them out and even try one RISK FREE at my site: http://www.SimpleCloth.com Let me know if I can answer any questions or help in any way.

Hi There,
With 3 kids, I tried a lot of diapers! I found that Huggies Supreme worked well around her legs and actually held everything in! They are very cushy too. These also work great for overnites too, since they are always sold out of size 3 in the "Overnights" (it's very popular). If you want a natural diaper, 7th Generation works well and they are biodegradable which works well on road/camping trips. You don't feel guilty about leaving them out in the woods, because they will just degrade naturally. I use both of these and have had a daughter and two boys, and both these diapers worked great for all 3 of them :-). Good Luck!

I used Pampers on my son until he was too big for diapers. The Cruisers worked well for him. With my daughter the same is holding true. Many people bought us Huggies, and we'd have to change outfits several times a day because they didn't catch all the mess. That applied to both our son and daughter.

But, every baby is different, and a switch may be good for you. I like the Pampers.

When we use disposables, we use Pampers Baby Dry. I like them a lot more than the swaddlers and they cost less. We also use G Diapers (the flushable diapers). They are completely free of chlorine and plastic and actually not bad for the environment. They are compostable (not the poopy ones) or you can flush the insert down the toilet (no more diaper pail!) Lately, we've switched to using mostly BumGenius pocket diapers because I hate the thought of throwing all that plastic in a landfill and G's are kind of expensive. We loved swaddler when my daughter was younger. She's almost 2 and still only about 25 pounds. She's almost potty trained but we use the pampers baby dry (size 4) for overnight. And "g" diapers when we go out and about. Or a wrap over her undies just to be safe. A word about the pamper. We found that the cruisers we're a little bigger than the baby dry. Not sure if this is still the case. But if you have a skinny child something to consider.
