Bathseats Safe for Boys

Alright than... I have 2 of the Safety First Spinning Tubseats and they work great. They are an older version of the Dream seat.. so I would go with it. With my little boy I've not had an issue with his private being bothered, but I would just wrap a washcloth around the center piece it is a real issue. (More for the people jumping down this poor mother's throat!) As for the safety issue... it shouldn't be an issue as long as you are right there. Most of the issue I read with the seats were parents leaving their children unattended in the tub in a seat. I use my simple so I can bathe my twins together. They love it. They get a bubble bath and play. I also use it to help my son sit upright. SO I've had no issues with the seats and think they are great. Hope this helps. Take care.

My son is 5 months old and we just sit him in the tub and hold him up. We did the same for our older son. You really dont need a baby seat in the tub, and they are really unsafe. I think his little boy parts are not the priority as much as his safety. If you did get one, you could put a washcloth in front as a cushion. I would think that there is plenty of room for them, its not like he has adult sized parts that wouldnt fit.

I have no idea what kind mine is, but it is the same one I used for my daughter and now my son. It suction cups to the bottom of the tub. It kinda looks like a resturant high chair without the legs, only plastic and round (and blue). There is plenty of room, no need to worry about his little boy parts. I don't think you will find any that aren't roomy enough.

My daughter is just over 8 months old and we switched her (last week) to the big tub without a seat. We bought the grass-like tub mat at walmart and she seems to sit on it really well without moving around. She's crawling now and doesn't feel the urge to crawl in the tub because the mat seems to keep her in place pretty well.

We also went straight from the infant tub to a bath mat in the big tub. I didn't see any need to use the seat.
And they are not tight around the baby if that's what you are imagining. There is a lot of room.

I too thought about a bath seat, but decided on not getting one. To me it would be hard to wash the baby. Anyways, I went straight from the baby tub to the big tub with no problems. Just make sure your little one can sit up by himself and get a non slip mat. My son is 19 months now and I still hold his arm though when he is standing. Good luck in whatever you decide.

I have to admit, I am a little puzzled by the way the question was presented. I mean, unless your son is rivaling his daddy when it comes to what is between his legs then choosing a bath seat shouldnt be too difficult. lol. All seats offer plenty of room for the child to sit, even little boys. I would suggest the Over The Tub type seat. It is just so much safer. Even though i was within arms reach of my 10 month old son, when he was using the other kind (that does NOT attach) he managed to flip it over and bang his head on the side of the tub. It happened so quickly i couldn't even react in time. That was when I switched to the Over the Tub seat from Safety 1st.

And, if you are still concerned about his comfort or afriad of him sliding, they do sell foam cushions for use in bath tubs. You could easily cut it down to safely fit inside any seat you choose.

Are you looking for something to bathe your little guy? I had a hard time giving my son a bath by myself and my sister recommended the "Munchkin Duck". Its a big inflatable duck (beak goes "quack-quack") and my son just LOVES it. It holds them very well and you are able to have a free hand. My sister's son is 15 months and still bathes in it. You can find it at Target for about $9. I wish I had it earlier. Just a suggestion!
