One of the mom's mentioned a babysitting co-op in Bloomington in one of the responses this week. I'd love to get more information. Does anyone know how I can find out more about it?

I have not heard anything after the original, but will share my information with you, in case you are interested in getting something going. We are due in August with our first, and have no family around. Assuming we will want to get out of the house periodically over the next several years, and don't want to always shell out a bunch of cash for a sitter, I was hoping to find other moms that would trade babysitting for free. Let me know if this is of interest to you.

If you haven't heard back from anyone yet I can hook you up with someone who knows. I myself don't have much need for a babysitter (boring life!), but I have a friend who is very active in the co-op and I am sure she would be happy to email you about it. The Bloomington Babysitting Co-op is a non-profit organization that began in the 1960's and consists of up to 30 families who reside in Bloomington Minnesota who share babysitting hours amongst each other instead of paying for babysitters.
All perspective families are thoroughly screened, background checked, and interviewed by at least three members as part of our application process prior to joining.
