Hi,

we're looking for a babysitter for occassional evenings. We have an
event coming up on May 17 and we're just planning ahead. Any recommendations?

Also, are there any play groups in chicago and around evanston? I'm willing to drive almost anywhere that is not terribly far(my daughter will be 2 next month, and my son will be 9months next month)

Hi! I don't know of any sitters-- we're actually looking ourselves, but I'm totally recommending PACT (Parents and Children Together). Have you heard of it? It's such a great program-- they have different classes and groups for different ages. I have an 8 month old, and I absolutely love it! Let me know if you want more info. Their number is ###-###-#### and they're located in Glenview.

Hope that helps!

You should post an ad on www.sittercity.com. They are usually college students or single women looking for extra money. I am currently using two girls off of the site to watch my five month old son.

Are you kidding? Evanston is a community that is non-stop for families. First, check out Chicago Parent. It is free and can be found almost everywhere. Look for it at the library, any of the bookstores, and even White Hen. Second, call the library to find out about Storytime programs and ask for referrals to other kid programs. Third, Skokie Park District has abundant programs from music and dance to swimming and tumbling. My best friend lived there for years and now resides in Skokie. I lived in Morton Grove and Glenview. Oh, I almost forgot about the new location for Kohl's Children's Museum in Glenview. It is a must. You are also close to the city and all of the wonderful events that happen in Chicago. Check out free days at the museums in the city. The train is also free for kids. Navy Pier has a wonderful Children's Museum too. As far a playgroups goes, call your church and ask if any mommies get together. You may even check out some local preschools located through churches. Those moms are always coffee-cluching with their children. Good luck-Remember, Evanston is great for kids and families.
