At Home Remedies....

My daughter had a HORRIBLE diaper rash last week and bad diareah. It didn't matter what I did for her she would scream when I changed her diaper. I cried right along with her....it was awful.
My husband called his mother in Mexico and asked her for any home remedies and she said to put corn starch on her poor little butt. Well, we did it and low and behold the next day she was better. Not 100%, but certainly not anywhere near as red and painful. By the second day the rash was gone.
This is my third child and I had never heard of that!
Anyone else have any home remedies to any kind of problem (skin, ears, eyes, butt, life in general!) that you swear by???

Corn starch in a spray bottle of water makes good home made shirt starch. Make it as strong as you need to. The commercial spray starch has embalming fluid in it. As well, pennies on the dollar!

Raw bees honey works great for allergies.

A brew of lemon juice, a spoon of honey, and a large spoon of oregano with water will get rid of a raspy cold within 3 days.

Aloe vera works great to heal open wounds.

If I think of more, I will add them. I am interested to hear some of the others.

Ginger candy works great for the stomach and motion sickness.

I have tons of them. I have been studying herbal remedies for almost 20 yrs.
Chamomile tea removes toxins from the body --gets rid of colds and flu in a couple of days.
Cinnamon will take care of upset tummys and diaherra in about 20 minutes. Just add cinnamon sugar to applesauce or oatmeal or on a piece of toast.
Pineapple will get rid of a wart.
A small piece of tomato will pop out a splinter overnight. Just make sure you wrap it good with gause and tape or your cleaning tomato juice out of your sheets. Works with glass also.

Corn starch is good as long as it is not a yeast diaper rash.

Just wanted to let you know cornstarch is awesome for bottoms in general. When I was growing up I'd have an itchy vagina now and then and my mom had me pat cornstarch on then too.

Hey L.! I know I am a little late on this but here is a great website I go to all the time for home remedies for my family. I like it because people post real life answers as to how the remedy worked or did not work for them.

I found out the hard way that my daughter was allergic to disposable diapers. She got the worst rash I'd ever seen on a baby.
Corn starch was a God-send. It worked much better than the goop we had tried putting on her.

That, and exposing tooshies to air as much as possible is the best rash "medicine".

Just my opinion.

for pink eye, I mix warm water with some honey and I drop it into my eye instead of using antibiotics. It works great! Pink eye is usually gone in 2-3 days

I just discovered GOOT. Garlic, olive oil, and coconut oil. Organic is the best, 3 tablespoons of each. Just warm the coconut oil, chop the garlic and then blend all together for 3 minutes. You strain it or use just as is. It is good for all sorts of stuff from colds (rub on chest, neck and bottoms of feet), to rashes. My son had an awful awful diaper rash from hand foot mouth and using that was awesome, it went away really quickly and took the pain away.
